1. Comprehensive Start Clinic, March 28, @ 1930 hrs. via Zoom. Scheduled presenters: Bruce Cooper, Curt Johnson, and me.

2. Intro to Starts, April 1, 1000 hrs at SMWYC. On-water starts begin 1300 hrs. with RC boat.

3. Advanced Starts, April 8, 1000 hrs at SMWYC. On-water starts begin 1300 hrs. with RC boat. Scheduled presenters: Bruce Cooper, Curt Johnson, and me.

These clinics are FREE, and are some of the most valuable training events around. If you want to win get your crew out there.

Attention racing skippers!
Intro to Yacht Racing is March 18, and there will be about 30 people looking to join race teams right away.

Help us get these new sailors into our community by making space aboard for them. Invite them to practice, race, or join your team at an afterparty to talk sailing. Let's welcome these new folks, and help fill out crews!

SBYRC is again partnering with DRYC to offer Intro to Yacht Racing on March 18. This one day program teaches how to become a yacht racer. No experience needed (experienced sailors welcome, too! ).

After the event we help attendees get on a race team.

Second, be sure to pay your dues for 2022-23 - we need you to continue.
Third, our annual Into to Yacht Racing is postponed one week, to Saturday, March 26 at DRYC. It's for anyone who wants to try out Yacht racing. We need skippers to bring their boats to teach the new people. grrutter@Gmail for info

On Wednesday, March 30, guest speaker Mike Priest will present a cruising seminar targeted at the Sunset Series.
Mike's knowledge of racing and cruising is extensive, and you're sure to pick up some new tips to help you have a fun, successful season.

We'll also review how to enter and get your rating certificate, as well as starting and racing strategies, and basic rules. If you are new to racing and thinking of giving the Sunset Series a try, this is the seminar for you!

Sunset Series Seminar, hosted by C*C

Wednesday, April 6 @ 7 PM

Designed for all racers. The seminar will cover tips and tricks for a successful season, the rules of racing, in particular as they apply to Sunset, and hear from a guest panel of experts.

How to get your children and family involved in the Sunset Series will be highlighted. After the panel presentation, there will be a Q&A about Sunset policies and procedures, and you can pick up the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions. Class splits will be announced.

It's also a good time for skippers to meet potential crew and for sailors who want to crew.
