Celerity Racing

I saw this, just the other day, walking through the parking lot at my office in WLA. Just the one. I did a double take… Had to share.

Let me just say... I really miss Wednesday Sunset Series races with Bruce, Every second counts, Bilson and the team!

Tonight was Celerity's last night racing. Or skipper Bruce Bilson decided to retire. For me it's been a great run, 16 years with a great guy. I look up to him for his sailing knowledge, I can only hope to come close to his skills! To add a little icing to the cake this week we finished first. What a way to Bruce and team Celerity to end the season and our time together!

Last night our skipper made a big announcement. If you were on the boat you know if not you do now... Bruce told us that this is his last season racing. He will more than likely be selling Celerity and hanging up he gloves. As you can guess this is a difficult decision for him. He has been sailing since (I believe) the early 70's. Next Wednesday will be his last Sunset Series race, with one weekend regatta to follow and then that's it. He will be having a wrap party at his place (I think he said the 9/18, I'll verify). Please hold notifying him directly and act surprised if he sends you a notice 😉 because I don't know how he wanted to do this.

Race night August 17th. Great weather leg! Great tacks! Great spinnaker set! Great down wind run! Great work int the channel (slipped past the competition while they fought for position) First to finish! Corrected to second (darn ratings). Great crew!

Race night August 10th. Great weather leg with some issues at the windward mark and spinnaker set. 7th place. 😕 We can do better...
