⚾ FIRST FALL TOURNAMENT IN THE BOOKS! 🐶🧡🖤
We wrapped up our first tournament weekend as the 1848 Dawgs 14U Slone, finishing 1-1-1 against some solid competition in an Open tournament.
From a coach’s perspective, there was a lot to be encouraged about. We swung the bats well, played fairly sound defense, and got some good work on the mound. More importantly, we were able to see how this group responds when they're challenged.
Were we perfect? Not even close, and that's exactly what fall baseball is for.
We made some mistakes, had a few situations we could have handled better, and found some things we need to clean up. But every one of those moments gives us something to learn from and take back to practice. The goal right now isn't to be a finished product, it's to keep getting better every time we step on the field.
For our first tournament together, I'm proud of the way these boys competed and represented the Dawgs. There's a lot of talent in this group, and I'm excited to see where we can take it as we continue to learn how to play together.
No trophies handed out in September. We're building toward something bigger. 💪
Next challenge: another Open tournament next Sunday in Findlay. Back to work this week, fix what needs fixed, and keep moving forward.
