Here are the times for the Fall Recreation Soccer Program starting Saturday, September 12, 2026:

Pre-K and Kindergarten: 8:00am to 9:00
First and Second Grade: 9:00am to 10:00
Third grade and up: 10:00am to 11:00

Players should come with their own ball, and wear athletic clothing. We recommend cleats and shin guards. This program takes place at the Dexter Lane Fields in Rochester, MA. We’ll see you on the pitch!

Silvershell Beach House – Season Closure Notice

The Silvershell Beach House will be closed for the season beginning Monday, August 31st, as our seasonal staff return to school. We want to thank everyone for another great summer at Silvershell Beach! We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable rest of the summer, and we’ll see you back at Silvershell next season!

🎭 Creative Corner Drama Class! 🎭

Calling all Kindergarten–6th grade students at Sippican School! Join us for a fun and supportive class exploring acting, movement, dance, creativity, confidence, and self-expression.

🌟 Culminating in a special student showcase!

The class will be co-taught by Beth Trout, a professional actor and member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity Association, and Lindsay Deignan, a Dean College dance major with extensive experience in dance.

Scup Creative is partnering with Marion Recreation to bring you our Kids Makerspace Workshop! Designed for students in Grades 1–6, this 6-week program features a weekly guided project alongside open-ended creative time where kids can tinker, build, and explore their own ideas.

📍 Workshop Details:

When: Mondays, October 5th – November 9th (Note: Week 2 meets on Tuesday, 10/13 due to the holiday)

Time: 5:00 – 6:30 PM

Where: Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center (465 Mill St, Marion, MA)

Silvershell Beach Lifeguard Schedule Update

Please be advised that Friday, August 21 will be the final day Silvershell Beach will be guarded for the 2026 season.

With many of our lifeguards returning to college, we will no longer have sufficient staffing to provide lifeguard coverage after Friday.

Beginning Saturday, August 22, Silvershell Beach will be Swim at Your Own Risk. Please use extra caution while enjoying the beach.

A Friendly Reminder to Slow Down

We’ve received concerns about speeding throughout the neighborhoods surrounding Front Street, Lewis Street, and the connecting side streets.

These streets are home to families, and during the summer they’re filled with children playing, neighbors walking, runners, cyclists, and pedestrians enjoying the area. A few extra miles per hour can make a significant difference when it comes to keeping everyone safe.

Please take a moment to slow down, obey the posted speed limits, and stay alert as you travel through these residential streets.

Update 7/9/26- Silvershell Beach is fully open after receiving the newest round of test results. For more information about test results, please visit this link:

DPH's Interactive Beaches Dashboard provides water quality testing results for the current beach season. It will tell you which beaches are open or posted with "No Swimming" advisory signs. If a beach is posted, do not swim or enter the water at that location to avoid risk of illness.
