Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty

Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty Our competition is open to girls ages 6-25, who live within 150 miles of our courthouse. Current Queen Desiree and Princess Emma will retain their titles.

It is our intent to produce a fair & balanced contest, & to foster an environment in which young ladies can grow confidence & skills as public speakers & horsewomen. The Mariposa County Fair is held over Labor Day Week End and on Sunday we have a Rough Stock Rodeo, produced by Rock’n M. Our Rodeo Royalty typically consists of Jr Princess, Princess and Queen and a Royalty Court. The contest and coordination of our royalty is administered by the Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds Foundation, a 501c3 non profit. Application deadline for the contest is typically the first Sunday in June. Contestants should have good horsemanship skills, knowledge of Mariposa, the sport of rodeo and western rural lifestyle. Full details are included in the application and is available on line at mariposafair.com or mariposafof.com or mariposamtnriders.com

Unfortunately due to not having enough contestants to run a viable contest we will not be having a contest this year. If you would like these young ladies to make an appearance at your event please notify us! We are selling raffle tickets for the Friends of the Fairgrounds for a $1,000 give away at the Rodeo on September 4, 2022. You do not need to be present to win. Check out our fb page for updates. One day, two different Stampedes!

Our Jr. Princess Kiki spent her Saturday night representing the Mariposa County Fair Rodeo at the Chowchilla Western Stampede.

Kiki has been hard at work with her horse Fleet, practicing flag runs and strengthening her horsemanship. All which showed in her performance last night in chowchilla!

What a beautiful night honoring and riding for the first responders, military, and heroes of our country. 🇺🇸

Another weekend, and off to another Rodeo!

Princess Scarlett and I had such a fun time representing the Mariposa County Fair Rodeo at the Marysville Stampede!

From Scarlett pushing broncs at the drive on Thursday. To the both of us running flags, cheering on the kids in the coin dig, and even joining in on the mutton busting fun Saturday night. There’s nothing quite like being down in the arena and getting to be part of the action!

Extra special getting to see Marysville Stampede Rodeo Queen Sydney Sampson, and making it out to her rodeo before she hands over her crown. Thank you for being so welcoming and for always checking in on the visiting queens. Those little things truly made us feel right at home!

I’m so thankful for all the places this crown is taking me and, even more, for the people and memories I get to collect along the way.

Hi everyone, my name is Anisa Degerli, and I have the absolute privilege to introduce myself as your 2026–2027 Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Queen!

I am a recent graduate of California State University Fresno where I earned my degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Equine Management.

While at Fresno State, I had the honor of founding and serving as the standing president of the Collegiate Horsemen’s Association. Through community outreach and fundraising, we were able to give back to the Fresno State Quarter Horse Unit and help support future generations of equine workers.

Today, I get to keep doing what I love and keep expanding my knowledge as an Equine Veterinary Technician.

I am a first-generation cowgirl, and my love for horses all started with one summer horse camp at 6 years old. I always joke with my mom, “You can’t take a little girl to horse camp and expect her not to fall in love.” That one summer sparked a love that has shaped my life ever since.

When I’m not working with, riding, or showing horses, you can usually find me traveling, or keeping busy with some type of craft. I’ve been lucky enough to visit over 15 countries and love experiencing new places and cultures. I also enjoy sewing, painting, scrapbooking, and anything that lets me get a little creative.

Community has always meant so much to me. After graduating from Fresno State and turning over the club, I knew I wasn’t ready to stop giving back. I find this opportunity as a way to become even more involved within my community while supporting the sport and traditions that I love.

More than anything, I hope to use this year to inspire the next generation. I truly believe they are the key to keeping rodeo and agriculture alive. If I can inspire even one young person to fall in love with horses or choose this way of life, then I know I’ve done my part.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to hold this title, and the chance to represent Mariposa County this year. I can’t wait for all the rodeos, adventures, and memories ahead!

So, here’s to the start of a pretty special ride and remember

Meet your 2026-2027 Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Princess, Scarlett Lucero!

Scarlett Lucero is 15 years old and a sophomore at Calaveras High School. Horses have been a huge part of her life since she was six years old, and her love for riding has only grown stronger over the years. She currently competes in gymkhana and is always looking for opportunities to learn, grow, and become a better horsewoman.

When Scarlett isn’t at school or riding, she loves being involved in her community. She has had the opportunity to host community events, volunteer, and give back whenever she can. One of the things she is most passionate about is working with a horse program that teaches children with disabilities about horses. Being able to share something she loves so much with these kids and watch their confidence grow is incredibly special to her.

Scarlett’s faith is also a very important part of who she is. She is thankful for God’s guidance and for the way He continues to lead her steps and open doors throughout her journey.

She is blessed with an amazing family who supports her every step of the way. Her dad, Gabe Lucero, her mom, Amanda Lucero, and her two little sisters, Avah and Remi Lucero, are her biggest supporters. Scarlett truly could not do this without them.

Her dream is to one day become a large-animal veterinarian and continue working with the animals she has loved her entire life.

One piece of cowgirl advice Scarlett always carries with her is, “When you fall down, get right back up and ride even harder—with a smile and with kindness.” To Scarlett, being a cowgirl is about more than what happens in the arena. It’s about having the courage to get back in the saddle when things don’t go your way, treating others with kindness, and never giving up on your dreams.

Scarlett is incredibly excited to continue her journey as your Mariposa Co. Fair Rodeo Princess. She looks forward to traveling, meeting new people, making memories, and sharing with others just how special their little community is. She is so thankful for the opportunity to represent Mariposa County and promises to work hard, serve with a grateful heart, and do the very best job she can to make everyone proud.

Meet McKinley “Kiki” Joslin

Born and raised in Bootjack, 11-year-old McKinley “Kiki” Joslin is honored to serve as your 2026–2027 Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Jr. Princess!

Kiki has a true love for the western way of life and spends much of her time riding, caring for her horse, and participating in rodeos and horse shows. She is also proud to be a part of the Coarsegold Flag Team, where she continues to strengthen her horsemanship and build an even stronger bond with her horse.

When she’s not in the saddle, Kiki enjoys dance, gymnastics, swimming, and exploring the outdoors. She especially loves spending time with her family and all of her animals.

Kiki is excited to represent the Mariposa County and give back to her community by sharing her passion for horses, rodeo, and the western lifestyle. Most of all, she hopes to be a positive role model for younger kids all while making plenty of special memories along the way.

The cowgirl advice she would like to share with everyone is “Even when times get tough, dig your boots into the dirt and make sure your faith is bigger then your fears”

Kiki looks forward to seeing you all throughout her reigning year and hopes she makes her community proud!

The Mariposa Fair Rodeo was more than just a night in the arena. It was a night filled with tradition, celebration, and new beginnings.

To every sponsor, volunteer, rodeo fan, and friend who came out to support us, thank you. Your presence, your cheers, and your encouragement mean more than you know!

We were honored to welcome so many visiting royalty who traveled near and far to celebrate with us and help make the evening one we won’t soon forget. A special thanks to Sujhey Jaslyn Miss Rodeo California,INC for spending the weekend at our fair and rodeo. It was a honor to host you and show you our small town!

Sunday was the official first night in the arena for our newly crowned 2026–2027 Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty. As the sashes were worn and the arena lights came on, a new chapter officially began. What an incredible feeling to step into these roles and realize that the traditions we love are now ours to carry forward.

Simply to everyone who came through the gates and spent your evening with us , thank you for making this rodeo so special. The arena may go quiet, but nights like this are the memories we carry with us long after the last ride.

Here’s to new titles, old traditions, new friendships, and another unforgettable year at the Mariposa County Fair Rodeo.

With the end of all the Local Ranch Events we have officially reached the end of yet another incredible fair weekend.

From the Ropers, to Calf Branding, Team Penning, and even our personal favorite the Mutton Busting we find ourselves at the bitter sweet end of an amazing Labor Day Weekend.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the fair! Whether you were an exhibitor, competitor, volunteer, supporter, or spectator. It truly is each and every one of you who makes the Mariposa County Fair so special.

As the gates close and the dust settles, we’re leaving this weekend with countless memories and so much pride for the community that makes this fair what it is.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind as my year as 2025-2026 Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Queen has officially come to an end. More than 6,500 miles traveled and countless memories made—I find myself at a loss for words.

There are simply too many people to thank, all of whom have played a special role in making this journey possible. Thank you to the Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds, the rodeo royalty committee, my family, my sponsors, and to Bobbie and McKenna, along with their families! I am grateful to each and every one of you for the year I have had.

Though I’m sad to see this chapter close, I can’t wait to see our newly-crowned royalty have the opportunities and memories I have been lucky to make throughout my reign. I know that Kiki, Scarlett, and Anisa are going to do a phenomenal job this year, and I am eager to see all they will accomplish over the next 12 months.

Mariposa, thank you for allowing me to have this honor; I hope I have made you proud!
