New England Renegades

Well it's that time of year again and "We" should be at the rink having tryouts for the 2025 Spring/Summer and Fall season. Unfortunately the situation at home with my wife has not changed and I need to be here with her to make sure that she gets better and to the point where she can do things for herself. Such is not the case.

I miss being at the rink working with players and coaches on the things that we do.

Hopefully in the near future "We" will be back and running our practices and competing with teams in the Summer League and hopefully participating in a few tournaments here and there.

High School hockey is right on your doorstep. I hope that players from New England Renegades have fully prepared themselves both physically and mentally for the upcoming season. Don't be Survivors or Contenders, BE COMPETITORS and/OR COMMANDERS!!!

The New England Renegades will not field a fall season this year due to issues concerning the family. However, we will be back up and running starting next spring (2025).

Information will be posted on this site regarding tryouts and program specifics prior to the beginning of the 2025 Season.

This year's tryouts were pretty scarce. Only 10 players showed up for tryouts and with the advent of a few other players being able to show on first night of practice, it is questionable whether or not the New England Renegades will be able to field a team this summer.

There is plenty of room for more players both offense and defense. With the rising prices all across the board, the more, the better.

What does this have to do with hockey?

At the "highest" levels of hockey this is standard because of the skill levels of the players. But at the minor/youth levels something is missing; the teaching or enhancement of skill set levels and most importantly hockey IQ.

The New England Renegades is an independent hockey program designed to enhance the skill set level and hockey IQ of all players involved. Our program is about success. Not about wins and losses but the progression of players' knowledge and understanding of the game and the enhancement of skill sets to compete at the "next" level.

We have had many players from our program go on to be high school All-Stars, play Junior hockey, play College hockey at both Club and Varsity levels (Div 1, 2 and 3).

There is NO PRESSURE put upon players to WIN at all costs but to progress to the point where collectively the TEAM is successful. Players are pressure enough to win at Select and High School levels. We just want our players to enjoy the game, be successful competitively and get to the next level.

Tryouts for our program will be in March TBD.

2024 Season tryouts will be posted on NEW website ASAP. Pass the word if you're interested in getting to be the best that you can be and be able to play at the next level.

What are the 4 types of athletes that exist in every sport?

Last night, the New England Renegades defeated their rival hockey program; Canadian Hockey Club by a score of 4 - 3. The play was not as good as their win in the first CHC game where the boys won 6 - 1. Boys have been playing well to bring their record to 5 - 1, BUT and that is a BIG BUT, they have not yet reached their full potential. I would not like to playing against them when they put it all together for a full game. I look forward to that game oh so much.

Last night the New England Renegades participated in a scrimmage game with another team and although the outcome (score) was positive, the score was NOT indicative of players' play. There is still a lot of work to do.

Players need to DO THEIR JOBS!!!!
