The Martin Clipper MS team ran tonight at the Teske Invitational. Estelle Conley and Colby Stocking were both top three finishers. Garrett Stout finished in the top 15. All were medal winners. Isla Fontaine, Jaelynn Nelson, Nate DeGoode, Tristan Karni and Kali Patmos all ran personal bests. Brayan Romero Perez ran his first race tonight in 14.57. The Clippers run again this weekend at the Fennville Open.

The Clipper Cross Country teams ran last night in the Under the Lights Invitational at South Christian. Both teams performed very well even missing a couple of runners. The girls’ team finished 10th in their race out of 31 teams. Allie Rodgers and Sara Schipper were both medal winners. Allie ran a season best of 21.26 which is only 20 seconds off her personal best. Sara ran a 22.04 also about 20 seconds off her personal best. Emma Dettmann was the teams’ third place finisher with a season’s best. Riley Bender and Durae Sage rounded out the top 5. Durae and Kayden Jager had season bests. Paityn Hayes ran a personal best.
The boys’ team, which completed their race after midnight 😊, finished 13th out of 31 teams. The boys were led by Hunter Hayes who was a medal winner and equaled his personal best of 18.08. Jadon Dettmann and Jeremiah VanHouten were also medal winners both running season bests that were seconds off their personal bests. Gari Salvador was the teams’s 4th runner also finishing in a huge season best. Caleb Hopkins finished as the teams’ 5th runner with a personal best. Spencer McCarty and Xander Ruiter rounded out the top 7, Spencer with a PB and Xander with a season’s best. Logan Tenbrink, Colin Kennedy, Gavin Keeler and Johnny Meza ran strong races. Logan had a season’s best and Colin had a personal best.
Both teams continue to improve and become increasingly competitive in D4 standings.
The teams have a week off heading into Labor Day with time for some good training before heading to the Spartan Invitational on September 11.

A HUGE thank you goes out to Heart of West Michigan United Way! They donated over 150 pairs of running shoes to our XC and Track & Field programs and for students in need. Thank you to Dan Ten Hoopen at United way for facilitating this amazing donation of running shoes. We are incredibly grateful, as these shoes will have a lasting impact, not only supporting our athletes but also ensuring that students in need have access to proper footwear.
