Season lease appointments open tomorrow at noon!

Starting Wednesday, September 16 at 12 PM, you can book your fitting appointment online at skigd.com.

Fittings begin October 3 and are available every Saturday + Sunday from 10 AM–4 PM until ski season begins.

Pick your appointment, come in for your fitting, and we’ll get your equipment set for the season.

There are ski days you remember because the snow was perfect.

And then there are the ones you remember because you rode the chairlift with your dad, finally kept up with your big sister, met your friends at the lodge, or skied the same run until your legs gave out.

Great Divide has always been more than a place to ski.

It’s the mountain you grow up on.

Winter will be here before we know it. ❤️

A lot of winter happens long before the snow starts flying.

On Monday, our crew worked alongside experienced ropeway professionals on a rope splice for the Good Luck chairlift. It’s a pretty incredible process to watch—and one of those jobs that takes specialized knowledge, patience, precision, and a whole lot of teamwork.

Summer maintenance isn’t always the most visible part of running a ski area, but it’s a huge part of what keeps Great Divide moving all winter long. We’re fortunate to have great people in our industry who bring their expertise to the mountain and work right alongside our crew.

Another summer project in the books. ❄️🚠

A member of our Montana ski family is hurting today, and we’re hurting with them.

Our thoughts are with everyone at Maverick Mountain as they face the devastating impacts of wildfire within their ski area.

From all of us at Great Divide, we’re thinking of the Maverick family and the entire community surrounding them. ❤️

With heavy hearts, we are sad to say the sand creek fire is actively inside the ski area boundary. The Maverick chair has sustained damage, but further details are unknown. We wont know the extent of the damages until we regain access to the property!

A big thank you to all the people on the front line and everyone who has helped us this far! Please keep our community in your thoughts.

Winter is built in the summer. ⛷️🌲

The lifts may be quiet, but Great Divide definitely isn’t.

Our crew has been busy across the mountain with trail clearing, dirt work, lift maintenance, inspections, and all the behind-the-scenes projects that help get us ready for another winter.

And summer at Great Divide isn’t all work. We’ve also been welcoming people back to the mountain for summer events—including celebrating with couples and families at summer weddings and the National S3DA shoot.

Turns out the mountain looks pretty good without her winter coat, too.

Meanwhile, we’re already looking toward 2026–27:

There’s still plenty of summer left, and plenty more happening behind the scenes.

From Belmont to Great Divide.

Before it was Great Divide, this mountain was known as Belmont — a local ski hill built by people who wanted Helena to have a place to ski.

As we look ahead to our 85th ski season, we’re starting to collect stories, photos, and memories from every era of the mountain.

Did you learn to ski here? Race here? Work here? Ride your first chairlift here? Have an old pass, patch, trail map, or photo tucked away somewhere?
