Our BTY June Athlete of the Month is Dillon Kis. Dillon runs track and cross country for Marysville High School. He did our semi-private athlete performance training this off-season and got great results! One of the most impressive results this off-season was he increased his vertical jump by 4 inches in just 2 months! Dillon is one of the hardest workers in the gym and approached every exercise with a lot of intention and effort. We have no doubt that these qualities will continue to help Dillon succeed.

Dillon had some impressive improvements in his spring track season. Here is what Dillon had to say about his experience training at BTY:

“My favorite part about training at BTY is having an individual training plan focusing on my running goals. 
Since training at BTY I have had a 31 second time drop in the 3200 and a 6 second time drop in the 1600. 
The next goal I’m training for is to run a sub 17:30 5k. 
My favorite accomplishment since training at BTY is my PR in the 3200.”

This is your reminder that golf is a sport and you should warm up accordingly 🏌

Many people show up to the first tee without a warm up and wonder why it takes them a few holes to find their swing and start hitting the ball well.

A great warm up does the following things:
1. Gets your joints into the positions needed for an efficient golf swing
2. Primes the muscles you need to hit the golf ball far
3. Improves motor control and body connection for a smoother swing

In a perfect world you should do a physical warm up specific to your individual swing and body needs before you get to the course. But in the real world that’s not always possible.

In this video, Coach Carly shows a quick warm up you can do at the course with your club. It may not be perfect, but it’s a whole lot better than hitting your first drive cold.
