Today is a day to recognize the value of hard work — the early mornings, long days, challenging moments, and the people who keep showing up and getting it done.

In CrossFit, we talk a lot about the work and we also know that the work is never just about the result. It’s about consistency, resilience, commitment, and being willing to put in the effort even when no one is watching.

So today, we celebrate the workers, builders, teachers, caregivers, first responders, business owners, coaches, parents, and everyone who contributes their time and talents to make our local communities stronger.

Work hard. Take pride in what you do. And today, take some time to rest and enjoy the people who make the work worthwhile.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at CFPC! 🇺🇸💪

A holiday weekend is a great time to slow down, enjoy the people you love, and perhaps put in a little work of a different kind. 😉 At CFPC, we think the best way to celebrate the day off is to earn it 💪

We’ll be getting after it Labor Day morning with TWO classes:
⏰ 8:00 AM
⏰ 9:30 AM
📲 Sign up through the Wodify app.

Drop-ins are always welcome. If you’re joining us from out of town, you can find our waiver on the CFPC website before you arrive. Hope to see you on Monday.

A long weekend is a good reminder that hard work and having a good life can—and should—coexist.

Work hard. Move your body. Spend time with your people. Eat good food. Get outside. Rest when you need it. And if you're lucky, find a community that makes showing up feel a little less like work. 😉

As we move into September and the unofficial end of summer, we're grateful for every person who continues to show up, sweat with us (a lot of sweat lately), encourage each other, and make CFPC what it is.

Enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend everyone.

We hope to see you in the gym 🧡🖤

We talk a lot about showing up, working hard and pushing ourselves to become stronger, fitter and better. Yet, there’s another part of the equation that deserves just
as much attention: Recovery.

Your body doesn’t get stronger while you’re doing the workout. It gets stronger as it recovers and adapts to the work you’ve done. That means rest days aren’t “missing a workout.” They’re part of the workout plan.

Recovery can look like:
🚶‍♀️ Taking a walk
🧘‍♀️ Stretching or working on mobility
💧 Hydrating
🥩 Fueling your body well
😴 Getting enough sleep
🏋️‍♀️ Scaling your workout when your body needs it
🧡 And sometimes… simply taking the day off

One of the best reminders from CrossFit’s own guidance on recovery is to “choose rest before it chooses you.”

Pay attention to the signs. If you’re constantly exhausted, your performance is declining, soreness isn’t going away, or you’re feeling run down, it may be time to back off and give your body the chance to catch up. And remember: scaling is not quitting. Rest is not weakness. Going lighter is not failing. We’re playing the long game here.

Our goal isn’t to have our best workout for one day. It’s to keep showing up, moving well, getting stronger and enjoying this thing called fitness for years to come. Train hard so you can recover well and come back ready. That’s how we get better. 💪🏼

Coach Nancy 🧡🖤

If you’ve been around CrossFit Pistol Creek for a while, chances are you know Nancy Johnson.

Nancy has been with CFPC since our original location, first joining us as an athlete before stepping into the role of coach. She’s now been coaching for five years and has is a terrific CrossFitter, a great coach and someone who continues to make a difference in our community. She also holds a pretty special distinction: Nancy was the first female to be named Member of the Year at CFPC. 👏🏼 And if you know Nancy, you know that recognition was well deserved.

As a coach, Nancy brings knowledge, encouragement and plenty of experience to the floor. Her favorite movements? Bar muscle-ups and sit-ups. Her least favorite? DB step-ups and chest-to-bar. 🙃 She’ll take burpees over thrusters, the beach over the mountains, and an energy drink over coffee any day.

Perhaps the best insight into Nancy as a coach comes from her answer to one simple question: What’s one thing you think athletes should always remember?

“Move with intention.”

Whether you’re warming up, working through a metcon or lifting heavy, Nancy believes how you prepare matters—and how you warm up is how you perform.

When she’s not at the gym, Nancy enjoys relaxing and spending time with her husband and daughter. ❤️ And, you can catch Nancy coaching Monday & Tuesday at Noon and 1:15 PM, and Saturday mornings.

We’re grateful she chose to grow alongside CFPC and continues to share her experience, energy and love of CrossFit with all of us. Thanks for being an important part of our story, Nancy. CFPC loves you! 🧡🖤

What A Weekend. 🧡🖤

We are SO proud of our CrossFit Pistol Creek athletes who showed up, put it all on the line, supported one another, and represented our community so well at the 2026 Big Orange Brawl.

And yes… seeing all those medals around the necks of our athletes is pretty dang impressive! 👏🏼🔥 Every one of them was earned through hard work, tough training days, and a whole lot of teamwork.

And here’s the thing we love most about competition: winning is only part of the journey. It’s the person beside you who cheers when you’re struggling. It’s your teammates pushing you through one more rep. It’s the friends in class who celebrate your PR like it’s their own. It’s showing up scared, nervous, excited, exhausted—and doing it anyway. It’s becoming a little stronger, a little braver, and a whole lot more connected along the way. That’s what makes the CFPC community extra special. 🧡

Congratulations to ALL the athletes who competed this weekend at the Brawl. We’re incredibly proud of you—not just for what you accomplished, but for how you showed up for each other.

And while the medals in this photo speak volumes, the memories, friendships, growth, and community—those things are priceless. 🥇🥈🥉

🔥 BIG ORANGE BRAWL WEEKEND IS ALMOST HERE! 🔥

The time has come. 14 Pistol Creek athletes are headed into battle at the 2026 Big Orange Brawl, and we couldn’t be more proud of this crew. 🧡

Chaz Barnes • Derrick White • Traci Carico • Adam Shulier • Katie O’Neal • Brian Whitman • Kasey Carringer • Kyler Love • Brooke Burgin • Matthew Davis • Sam Mize • Hannah Savas • Mike Jones • Jaden Winn

You’ve put in the work. You’ve pushed through the tough days, the heavy days, the “why am I doing this?” days—and now it’s time to go see what you’ve got.

Trust your training, cheer like crazy, leave it all out there and, most of all HAVE SOME FUN!

We’ll be watching, yelling, high-fiving, and probably losing our voices right along with you. 📣🔥

A thank-you goes out to all of the Big Orange Brawl sponsors for supporting this event and our athletes. Your investment in the sport and this community means so much. And an especially HUGE THANK YOU to CrossFit Courageous for putting in the work to organize this event and bring the Big Orange Brawl to life. Events like this don’t happen without a whole lot of time, energy, and heart—and we appreciate you!

Now, Pistol Creek… LET’S GET LOUD. 🧡🧡🧡

Last weekend was a pretty great reminder of what makes CrossFit so special. 🧡

We hosted a community WOD with our friends at CrossFit CHF, and honestly… it was EPIC.

So many athletes. So many different abilities. So many adaptations of the same workout. And SO. MUCH. LOVE. for this crazy sport we all get to do together.

Some people moved heavy things. Some moved lighter things. Some did the workout exactly as written, while others made it their own. And every single one of them belonged.

That’s the beauty of CrossFit. It’s not about everyone doing the same thing. It’s about everyone showing up, working hard, cheering each other on, and finding a way to participate.

Different ages. Different backgrounds. Different fitness levels. Different reasons for being there. One community.

We’re incredibly grateful to CrossFit CHF for joining us and to every athlete who showed up and made the morning what it was.

This is CrossFit. This is community. This is why we love what we do.
❤️‍🏋️‍♀️🤝

Want to eat better? Change what’s in your kitchen.

Want to train harder? Surround yourself with people who train hard.

Want to think bigger? Spend time with people who challenge you to think bigger.

We tend to think the answer is more discipline when perhaps a better strategy is to build an environment that makes the right choices a little easier.

Train with people who show up. People who encourage you. People who push you. People who celebrate your wins and help you through the hard days. Let's be honest. You’re going to be shaped by your environment either way so choose one that makes you better.

Last Sunday’s Inversion Clinic with Coach Traci was a perfect example. We came together to learn something new, challenge ourselves, laugh a little, and leave better than we started.

That’s what this community is about.

You don’t have to do it alone. Find your people. Then keep showing up. We'll be here to welcome you 🧡

🎯 Coach's Corner | Meet Coach Amanda Stone

Amanda has been part of CrossFit Pistol Creek since Day 1. Before she was a coach, she was an athlete. She showed up, learned, struggled, laughed, got stronger, and became part of the community just like everyone else. And that's still the driving force behind why she coaches today.

Her heart is at CFPC 🧡

Amanda says:
"My hope is that every athlete leaves feeling more prepared, supported, and empowered—not just for the workout, but for whatever comes next. I hope they leave knowing they can trust what they practice here, and trust themselves to handle what life puts in front of them."

For Amanda, coaching isn't only about creating better CrossFit athletes, it's about helping people become a little more capable, confident, and prepared for their lives outside these walls.

You'll find her coaching Monday and Wednesday mornings at 5:15 and 6:15 AM. She's honored to be there to turn the lights come on, to greet the first athletes who walk through the doors, and to welcome in a new week at Pistol Creek.

So, if you're an early-morning crew regular, greet her back with a big smile. And, if you've never taken one of Amanda's classes... this Wednesday morning might be a good time to change that. ☕️🏋️‍♀️

👇 For those who've been around a while:
What's one thing you remember about Amanda from your early days at CFPC?

And for those who have taken her classes:
What's something she's said, taught, or encouraged you to believe about yourself?

See you on the floor. 🧡🖤
