Smoky Mountain Pickleball Club II

This week the Maryville First Baptist Church will be available for pickleball play on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:45 AM until noon and on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

The First Baptist Church gym will be closed on Monday, Sept 7th in observance of Labor Day.

Our fall general membership meeting will be held at 5:30 PM, on Thursday, October 8, 2026 in the Craft Room (upstairs) of the Maryville First Baptist Church. We will be holding our election of club officers during the meeting. More details will be published later.

Our annual Halloween Party will be held between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the Basil Courts in Alcoa. In case of inclement weather we will hold the party at the Maryville First Baptist Church. More details will be published later.

Pickleball Skills and Drills Workout 🔥

It is with great sadness that we report that Daniel “Dano" Patrick Farrell, 63 passed away unexpectedly on May 22nd, 2026. Yankee Dan was a true lover of The Yankees, Bob Seger, line dancing and pickleball and traveling.

Formerly from West Islip, Long Island, New York born September 28, 1962, Dan was the president of Suffolk County Association of Municipal Employees from 2003 to 2015. Former graduate of West Islip Senior High School class of 1980 and St. Joseph College class of 2015.

Dan was so proud of his son Sean who recently became a doctor and his daughter Kyra who just had his first grandchild.

Pickleball has become an ever increasing popular sport, and so too have injuries associated with playing pickleball! We urge all players to consider wearing protective/impact resistant eye wear when on the courts. Most sporting goods stores (Dicks, Academy, Wal-Mart) and on-line retailers (Amazon) offer a wide variety of styles and price ranges; including those with prescription lenses.
