IMPORTANT MEMBER SAFETY NOTICE!
Good afternoon, everyone.
I wish I were posting something more exciting about the gym, but I need to share an important safety reminder with all of our members.
We were recently made aware of suspicious individuals outside the gym late at night. They were reportedly pacing outside, looking into the gym, and appeared to be watching the building for an extended period of time. They seemed to be waiting for a female member to leave. Thankfully, she was not alone, and once they realized that, they left the area.
Your safety is extremely important to us.
Because of this incident, I want to strongly remind everyone of our after-hours policy:
If staff is not present and you see someone outside the gym waiting by the doors, looking inside, or knocking and asking to be let in, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR OR LET THEM INSIDE.
Even if they say they are a member, please do not open the door for them. If they genuinely need assistance, they can call the gym number. The call comes directly to my phone, and I can assist them from there. Unless I can verify their membership and identity through our system and cameras, they will be asked to return during staffed hours.
We have already notified local law enforcement about the incident, and officers will be increasing patrols around our area during the late-night hours.
We also want everyone to know that panic buttons are located on the walls in the selector machine section, between the Stairmasters and lockers in the front, in the shower rooms, the back restroom, and at the front desk. If you ever feel that you are in immediate danger, these can be used to alert authorities.
If you train late at night, please stay aware of your surroundings. If something or someone does not feel right, trust your instincts. Do not confront suspicious individuals, and do not hesitate to contact law enforcement if necessary.
Please look out for yourselves and for one another. We want House of Gainz to be a place where everyone can train hard and, most importantly, feel safe doing it.
