Pudgie pies were had. Opera music was sang at 11:45pm. Freshmen were taught to ride bikes. Another successful Mauston CC Door County trip in the books.
Our 22nd annual DC trip was kicked off with a radio sendoff from our favorite radio host, 92one WRJC’s Murph, followed by a 4 hour bus ride northwest.
Pre-meet consisted of a mini golf tournament at Evergreen Miniature Golf. You’ll never guess who won…if you guessed Coach DeVoe you would be correct.
Onto our race results…
The girls varsity team got our racing action started on our competitive season with a fantastic 4th place overall finish out of 10 teams, with medalists in sophomores Alicia R (5th) and Kalyn N (19th).
The varsity boys were next to take the course where they raced a contested battle with Lux-Casco, ultimately finishing in 2nd place overall as a team with all 5 scoring boys in medal finishing position.🏆 Shoutout to Weston P (3rd), Haakon P (6th), Noah C (11th), Braydon H (14th), and Isaiah K (19th)!
The combined JV boys and girls were the last race of the afternoon where the boys team finished in 2nd place overall with a medalist in freshman, Kellen H. They also had top ten finishes in Noah T (7th), Nick T (8th), and Caden B (10th). 🏆 The girls JV team also had a stellar race, especially Freshman medalist Molly M (4th) who led the girls thru roughly 4K of racing. Fantastic running from the JV crews!

We finished our trip at Milty Wilty’s for lunch, a long time tradition!
Shoutout to the Wisconsin Track and Cross Country teams for being on site and cheering for all the athletes. We hope you have a successful training camp! 🦡
What a great start to our 2026 cross country season. Thank you to all the families who donated to our camping trip as well as the families who made the drive to Door County to cheer on our athletes. We couldn’t do this trip without you!
