As a young boy going to local dirt tracks 311 Speedway, Log Cabin Raceway, and Ace with my dad I dreamed of racing but never had that chance as a boy. Although I did not have the chance as a boy I still dreamed of racing someday on some level. My chance to get involved in racing came in 2002 when I started Hurd Racing with David Purgason Jr. as my first primary driver and with my dad helping on th

e crew. Over the next few years I drove select races and David drove a total of five seasons with Hurd Racing through the 2006 season winning over 50 races and two track championships. In 2007 Josh Barczy started driving full time for Hurd Racing and completed three full seasons. During those three seasons Josh won over 45 races including two WKA Asphalt state series races and one King of the Clay race. He also won three track championships while driving for Hurd Racing. After the 2008 season Josh Barczy aged out of the Junior Sportsman Champ and Steven Barker moved into that kart winning the points in that class for 2009 and 2011. In 2011 Noah Doss joined the team as Steven's teammate and won his first championship at Providence Raceway. In 2012 Noah was the primary driver winning 45 races and 4 championships. 2013 was another great season for Hurd Racing with Noah Doss once again behind the wheel. 2013 was our first year with a factory supplied chassis from Predator Kart Chassis. Noah won a total of 29 races in the 2013 season and won our first state championship in the North Carolina King of the Clay state series. Drivers, Wins, and Championships

One of my former drivers Josh Barczy lost his Grandpa and his best friend this week. It has been hard for me to express my thought’s and feelings. I know how close they were. Jimmie was one of the best men I have ever met. A true drag racing legend that loved his family.
During our karting years, we were all so close-Josh, Tracey, Jody, Ashley, the rest of the family. Those were truly special times, and the memories we made together are ones I will always cherish.
Jimmie had a genuine love for Josh, his entire family, and drag racing. I will never forget him supporting Josh through all those years at the kart track and drag racing slot cars. In 2010, Josh stepped away from karting to pursue drag racing alongside his grandpa, beginning a new chapter that became something truly special for both Josh, Jimmie and the entire family. They all raced as a family and made some great memories.
The photos bring back so many memories-from Josh's early days in a junior dragster, to the famed Flintstone ‘66 Nova that he still races today. One photo also captures Josh and Jimmie together at a big slot car event in Tennessee.
Josh, I know carrying on your grandpa's tradition in his car means something incredibly special. Every time you race it, you carry a part of Jimmie with you. His love, guidance, and support will never be forgotten.
Prayers to Josh, Tracey, Jody, Ashley, and the entire family. I still love you all like a second family, and I'm grateful for the years, the friendship, and the memories we shared.

After the first rain delay at Stateline on August 1st, Bentley and his friends had an absolute blast watching Dale and Jacob Steele work their magic, packing the race track back in just before the skies opened up again and cancelled the night's racing. The excitement peaked when Jacob slid toward the fence and had to back up—everyone was on the edge of their seats! And the big debate? Which pack car was the loudest roar on the track!

🏁Hurd Racing Update - Saturday, August 1st at Old Stateline Speedway, Lawsonville, NC🏁

Cameron Moore hit the track for his fifth stop in the Stateline/Coleridge points series on August 1 st at Stateline Speedway.

He qualified 3rd in the Ducar 390 warmup, grabbed 2nd in Pro 390, and took the pole position in Ducar
360.

In the Ducar 390 warmup race, Cameron quickly moved up to 2nd place and held strong until the checkered flag.

Then the rain rolled in and shut down the last two races, giving Cameron the win in Ducar 360 and finishing 2nd in Pro 390.
