Today, we remember everyone who was lost on September 11, 2001 — nearly 3,000 lives taken far too soon.
We also want our lacrosse family to know: several members of our own community were among them. Welles Crowther, a former Boston College lacrosse player, became known as "The Man in the Red Bandana" for guiding at least a dozen people to safety in the South Tower before he died. Eamon McEneaney, a Cornell lacrosse legend, led dozens of coworkers to safety during the 1993 WTC bombing — and was killed on 9/11 eight years later. They're just two of many.
Visit our "What's New?" on our website for more stories on others from the lacrosse community we lost on (or because of) 9/11.
