It’s the time of year we all dread and can only wish about boating. Do you have a boat lift that worries you or haven’t done any maintenance on it in years? Want to make sure it is ready to go when it hits the water? Give us a call and we can come out in the snow to evaluate and repair your lift to make sure it is ready to go when you are. Stay warm and think summer.

Well I can finally say let it snow. Had some customers take advantage of the great weather we had this fall and waited to have their piers removed. Today was my last day in the water this fall. I was able to pull the final few piers and now I can hang up my waders till spring.
Been trying to get work done this past week but the weather has not been too cooperative. It is hard to take off canopies when they are wet. This week looks better and the calls have been coming in.

Nothing like getting an early start to the work day.
Had a customer that needed his lift moved about 100 yards from one pier to another. The bottom was hard so you would think no problem. Well that's the first mistake. First it was on Lake Thunderbird. If you don't know where that is look up Putnam IL. Second, the depth was interesting. About 5 feet deep at the front of the lift but only 11 feet at the back.
Got the lift moved and leveled. The last step was cabling the lift to the seawall so that it didn't slide into the abyss. Five feet behind the lift it dropped to 17 feet deep.
Received a text last night from a customer that is officially done for the season and I can take their pier and lift out whenever. Prior to this the earliest thing scheduled was the end of september
So with Labor Day coming up shortly and being the unofficial end of summer I have started receiving calls about scheduling removals. Looking forward to all the hard work and long days but can't believe it's almost that time already. Feels like I just got done putting all the piers and lifts in and now I get to start taking them out.

So another day of working in the snow. Nothing like showing up to the first job of the day and finding everything covered in snow and the air temp is 25 degrees but wind chill is 12 degrees and we had to get in the water.

So I thought the ground hog said it was going to be an early spring and then we get this when I showed up to a job this morning.

Was out working this evening when a bald eagle decided to land in the tree right by me and watch me work. Pretty cool to see nature this up close and personal.

Got out today and did four jobs before it rains the next few days. Put in 66 sections of pier, three lifts and six jet ski lifts. Not bad for an eight hour day. Thanks Aaron Williams and Richard Brown
Today is a taste of warm weather that isn't here to last. Soon we will be in the water and getting everyone ready for summer
