DOESN'T ALWAYS SHOW ON THE OUTSIDE... SOMETIMES, IT SHOWS UP IN YOUR HEALTH. 💛⚡️
Fam, today we're going to talk about something a little different.
Stress. Survival. And the strength it takes to overcome obstacles when you're scared, exhausted, and unsure of what tomorrow holds.
When you're trying to hold everything together, all while feeling like you're doing it alone.
That kind of stress takes a toll.
I'm sharing one of my own body composition scans today.
In the comments I'll share my last one from August 27...
The one right here is from this morning, September 22.
In less than four weeks:
* My weight dropped from 112.4 to 105.8 pounds.
* My estimated body fat dropped from 15.8% to 12.5%.
* My estimated skeletal muscle mass dropped from 52.2 to 50.7 pounds.
Now, as a trainer, I know these machines have limitations. Hydration and other factors can affect the readings, and a body composition scan cannot tell us exactly WHY these changes happened.
But a 6.6-pound drop in less than a month is something I'm not going to ignore.
And this is NOT a transformation I'm celebrating.
This is me recognizing that while I've been fighting to keep everything around me standing, I also need to take care of the person doing all that fighting.
ME.
There's a lot happening in my personal life. I'll keep all of those details off of our gym page.
But I AM bringing the health conversation here.
Because I know I'm not the only one.
Some of you are walking into this gym (or anywhere) carrying things nobody else knows about.
Financial struggles. Family problems. Grief. Fear. Uncertainty.
You're showing up for your children, your jobs, your families, and everybody who depends on you.
But who's showing up for YOU?
Sometimes being strong isn't about pushing through another workout.
Sometimes it's eating when life has you distracted. Getting some rest. Asking for help. Setting boundaries. Making that scary decision you've been putting off.
Sometimes it's recognizing that you cannot continue sacrificing your own well-being just to keep everything else together.
I don't want to just survive this chapter. I want to come out of it HEALTHY.
And I want the same for every single person who walks through our doors.
Your health is more than the number on a scale. It's more than your body fat percentage, how much you can lift, or how hard you can push.
It's your physical health. Your mental health. Your peace. Your ability to LIVE.
I'm sharing this because I want you to understand that even trainers struggle. Even the people who spend their lives helping others get healthy, sometimes have to recognize when their own health needs attention.
I'm still showing up. I'm still fighting for everything I've built.
But I'm learning that I have to fight for myself, too.
You can be strong and still need help. You can be scared and still make the right decisions for your safety. You can be the person everyone depends on and still deserve someone to lean on.
Don't wait until your body is waving every red flag it has before you start taking care of yourself.
Your health matters.
YOU matter.
And sometimes the greatest transformation has absolutely nothing to do with the gym.
It's choosing a healthier tomorrow, even when getting there scares the hell out of you.
Much love, Fam. 💛⚡️
