Redwood Community Services Seeks Community Support for Winter Wonderland 2026
Vendors, Sponsors, and Donations Needed to Help Create a Free Holiday Celebration for Humboldt County Families
Eureka, CA – Redwood Community Services (RCS) is calling on local businesses, organizations, vendors, and community members to help bring holiday magic to children and families across Humboldt County through its upcoming Winter Wonderland event on Saturday, December 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Adorni Center in Eureka.
This free community event is designed to bring families together in a festive and welcoming environment while increasing awareness of the needs of local foster youth and mental health services. Winter Wonderland will feature community resource booths, family-friendly activities, games, entertainment, holiday treats, and opportunities for community connection.
To make this event possible, Redwood Community Services is currently seeking:
Community Vendors
Local businesses, artisans, service organizations, and nonprofit agencies are invited to participate and showcase their products, services, and resources while connecting with community members.
Sponsors
Businesses and organizations interested in supporting local youth and families can help offset event costs through sponsorships. Sponsors will be recognized for their commitment to strengthening Humboldt County communities.
Holiday Decorations
RCS is accepting donations of new or gently used Christmas and holiday decorations to help transform the Adorni Center into a festive Winter Wonderland experience for attendees.
In-Kind Donations
Donations of supplies, refreshments, activity materials, gift items, and family-friendly giveaways are welcome and appreciated.
Community Partners
Organizations interested in collaborating to provide activities, educational resources, or interactive experiences are encouraged to participate.
"Winter Wonderland is more than a holiday event," said Redwood Community Services representatives. "It is an opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate, and support children, youth, and families. Every donation, sponsorship, and volunteer contribution helps create a meaningful experience for local families while raising awareness about the ongoing need for foster and resource parents in Humboldt County."
In addition to supporting Winter Wonderland, Redwood Community Services continues to recruit compassionate individuals and families interested in becoming foster resource parents. The agency provides comprehensive training, ongoing support, and guidance throughout the process.
Community members can also mark their calendars for the Foster Youth and Mental Health Awareness Event on May 15, 2027, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., which will bring together local organizations, service providers, families, and advocates to support youth well-being throughout Humboldt County.

This Saturday, September 19, is California Coastal Cleanup Day! 🌊 There are plenty of opportunities right here in Humboldt County to get involved and help keep our beaches clean.

This year marks the 42nd annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, California’s largest annual volunteer event. Humboldt County has a long history of coastal stewardship, with local cleanup efforts dating back to 1979 when community members helped launch what became the Beach Beautification Project. More than 40 years later, that same spirit of caring for our coast continues.

Can’t make it to a cleanup this Saturday? No problem! Check out the list for additional cleanup opportunities happening throughout the rest of Coastal Cleanup Month.

And don’t forget, we still have a limited number of buckets and gloves available for pickup here at Humboldt Distillery, Monday – Thursday, 9AM–5PM.

It’s been a minute since I’ve given everyone an update!

We’ve now raised $2,724 of our $10,000 goal, and I cannot thank everyone enough. Every donation, purchase, and share has helped us navigate a pretty enormous transition around here.

With my partner gone, Soot Sprite Farm has had to adjust to a significant change in both income and workload. We’re figuring it out, getting creative, and doing what Soot Sprites do best… making s**t work. 😂💚

I’m selling shoes, household items, and even the Soot Sprite work van that was donated years ago. We’re trimming expenses and looking at how to make the farm sustainable for the long haul.

Because Soot Sprite Farm is worth keeping.

Over the past six years, 40 people have now called this place home when they needed somewhere to land. We’ve welcomed and cared for countless animals, hosted free community events, fed people, shared resources, opened our home and land, created space for kids and families, and tried to build a place where people can simply belong.

Sometimes that looks profound.

Sometimes it looks like housing someone through a difficult transition.

And sometimes it looks like chasing a damn goat out of the orchard. 😂

It’s all Soot Sprite Farm. 💚

Sponsors can help with animal food, hay and straw, veterinary care, farm supplies, donations or funding our free community events. In return, we’d love to proudly feature your business and logo at our events, flyers, media and recognize the businesses helping this community space continue.

A few dollars helps. A bag of animal food helps. A bale of straw helps. Buying something we’re selling helps. Sponsoring helps. Sharing helps.

We’re still here. Still caring for the animals. Still opening the gates. Still creating community. And still believing deeply in this wonderfully weird little place.
