Every horse has a story, and Cherokee’s is one of strength, transformation, and second chances.

Cherokee came into our lives thanks to close friends who had rescued her from a difficult situation in Oklahoma. At the time, she was around ten years old and living in a large, unmanaged herd with little human interaction. The years had taken a toll on her—she hadn’t had her hooves trimmed regularly, and one had grown severely over, making it appear as though she had foundered. To add to her already fragile condition, Cherokee was also pregnant.

But despite the challenges, Cherokee had a quiet strength about her.

With patience, consistent care, and the help of a skilled farrier, we began her journey toward healing. Groundwork became our language—simple, steady, and kind. Over time, that scared, wary, mare transformed before our eyes.

Today, Cherokee is a picture of beauty and resilience. She’s strong, intelligent, and full of grace. Her presence in our lives is a daily reminder of how far love, time, and trust can go.

We often say we don’t know what life would be without her—and it’s true. Cherokee is more than just a horse; she’s family, and the heart of our growing herd. Her story inspires us to continue rescuing horses in need and to give them the same chance Cherokee had—a new beginning and a life filled with care, purpose, and love.

We are located just 15 minutes south of Melissa, TX. Our location offers an outdoor practice corral, riding trail through the trees with opens spaces, and a welcoming atmosphere. We Specialize in Western Riding, trail riding, and learning how to train horses. We offer private and group lessons tailored to your abilities and goals.
