This month we are featuring Sam Gelb, a soccer coach from Steel United Texas! Sam has been coaching for Steel United for two years now and coaches five different teams.

“Oliver selflessly gave up his spring break to travel to Mexico and help run the KFC for MTE, and his contributions were truly invaluable. He was consistently punctual, highly attentive to the kids, parents, and MTE staff, and gave his full effort on the field to ensure the camp’s success. The camp would not have been the same without him, his Spanish skills and ability to interpret for staff were instrumental in making sure the kids and parents clearly understood expectations and activities. He also played a key role in ensuring a smooth border crossing through his communication skills, which helped avoid potential challenges. Oliver’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment were essential to making the camp such a success.”

Little ballers in the making down in Texas! Congratulations to both of the Steel United Texas 2017G Elite and 2017/18G Premier teams for bringing home some hardware at the 2026 Girls Liberty Invitational Tournament! The Premier girls finished as Finalists, while the Elite girls claimed the championship title. 🥇👏🥈

Both our 17G Elite and 17/18G Premier teams competed in the 2026 Girls Liberty Invitational Tournament this weekend, and both squads came home with some hardware! 🏆👏

A huge congratulations to both teams, and a very special shoutout to our 17G Elite for bringing home the Championship! 🥇⚽️

This past weekend, 3 of our teams competed in the International Girls Cup, hosted by ! ⚽️🔥
They faced great competition, showed incredible sportsmanship, and took away so many valuable lessons from the experience.

A special moment for our 08G Elite, who had the opportunity to share the field with San Pedro FC, and our 13G Elite, who went up against Alaska Select Chicas.

So proud of our 08G Elite, 13G Elite, and 11G Elite for representing our club so well! 👏
