Our final Sunday Senior Spotlight this year goes to another incredible rider, Brenna Kerins! Brenna has been one of our long-term lesson students at Woodlawn Stables, and the progress she has made as a rider has been amazing to watch! Brenna graduated from Eastern Alamance High School this spring and plans to finish up her Associate’s Degree in Science at ACC before continuing her education!

- Favorite Horseback Riding Memory: Brenna recalls a (now) funny memory at the Sandhill Starter Show in Raeford. Three of our horses got loose from the trailer, but we made up for the chaos by stopping at Dairy Queen!

- Which Horse Taught Her the Most: Jack taught Brenna the most—she learned so much about herself as a rider and also got to teach him skills along the way. She was key to his development as a horse too!

- Future Horse Goals: Brenna aims to start riding in the jumpers again. She misses the speed!

We are so excited to see what life has in store for Brenna! If one thing is for sure, we know horses will be part of her life 🐴💙

For today's Sunday Senior Spotlight, we are shouting out Angelina Moore! Angelina found Woodlawn Stables a few years ago, starting in our lesson program and continuing on to lease our special Willow (aka Wind in the Willows). Angelina graduated from high school with some college credits this spring and plans to continue her studies at Otterbein University majoring in Equine Science and Biochemistry to pursue a career in equine veterinary medicine.

- Favorite Horseback Riding Memory: Galloping through the trails in the Tuscan countryside while she was in Italy this summer. It was one of those moments where Angelina couldn’t stop smiling because it felt so unreal to be riding through such a beautiful place.

- Which Horse Taught Her the Most: Willow has taught Angelina to be more confident, trust her instincts, and be brave when riding. He’s also shown Angelina how rewarding it can be to build a partnership with a horse that has a big personality.

- Future Horse Goals: Angelina plans to ride on Otterbein University’s eventing and dressage teams!

We know the world has big things planned for Angelina, and we can't wait to see where she goes! 🐴💙

Sunday Senior Spotlights are back! And today's shout-out goes to the amazing Logan Briggs! Logan has been riding at Woodlawn Stables for years, first starting in our lesson program before purchasing her own horse, Tango (aka Gen Phantom Warrior). Logan graduated from Eastern Alamance High School this spring and plans to continue earning her Associate in Science at ACC and transferring to NC State to pursue their veterinary program.

- Favorite Horseback Riding Memory: Getting her first grand champion on Tango
- Which Horse Taught Her the Most: It's a tie between King and Sage. King was one of her favorite horses growing up, and Logan really learned how to ride on King. Sage was one of the first-ever horses Logan truly fell in love with, and helping Beth-Ann train Sage was so fun and taught Logan so much as a rider.
- Future Horse Goals: Show at bigger event centers like WEC or Tryon!

We are so proud of Logan and all her accomplishments! Watching her develop as a rider and as a person has been incredible. Cheers to all that is to come for Logan! 🐴💙

Week 1 of Woodlawn Summer Camp was such a blast! We love having a week with our summer campers to learn more about horses, horseback riding, and barn care!

Exciting things happening at Woodlawn Stables! Today, we started on the work needed to create a Lesson Tack Room shed and a Boarder Tack Room attached to the barn! See the pictures of the work done today on the shed. We will continue to post progress over the next few weeks. Looking forward to our new tack and organization set-up! 🐴💙

Happy 4th of July from the whole Woodlawn Stables community! Our Independence Day parade is one of our favorite annual traditions, and celebrating America’s 250th makes it extra special! ❤️🤍💙

Mr. Whiskers was the best barn cat that ever lived. From an early age, Mr. Whiskers (aka Whiskers, Whiskey, Whiskies) found his way to Woodlawn Stables and served as the resident barn cat until Merlin joined his forces. He lived such a beautiful, loving, fulfilled life, though you could never count on him to actually catch a mouse. Mr. Whiskers found comfort literally anywhere around the barn, he was always there purring next to you, and you could count on him to ask for as many pets as you’re willing to give. His meows for food will echo in the barn forever. Mr. Whiskers was a core member of Woodlawn Stables, providing so many people with love and laughter, and he will be missed every day. May he rest in peace and get all the pets and treats he wants in heaven 💙🪽

We had such a great time at Heather Ridge Farms this week! Our riders and horses continue to impress us with their hard work and dedication to improving! Congratulations to Lina on Wind in the Willows, Kenzi on This Jack Bar is Radical, and Anna on Mystery Machine! As always, thank you to all who came out to support! 🐴💙

We had another fantastic weekend of showing at the Double Take Stables schooling show! Our riders and horses were phenomenal and we are so proud! Thank you to Double Take Stables for hosting this schooling show, to all the sponsors, and to all those who came out to support! 🐴💙
