Hey derby fans, your favorite derby skaters are still collecting bottles and cans! As our county moves into Phase 1, we are looking forward to eventually being able to hit the track again and we hope to be in a place to support all our skaters financially when that becomes a reality.

You can help your Squad by setting aside any recycling from your homes and places of employment. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we will not be doing pick ups at this time. However, if you are able to store the bags/containers, or leave them in an unpopulated area, we will gladly dispatch a derby skater to pick them up once it is safe to do so.

A year ago today, your Sis-Q Rollerz were facing off against at the in Medford. It was a well-matched, hard-hitting game, but ultimately it was Sis-Q who emerged victorious! While the wolfpack is now wearing red and running with many more pack members under the name, the intensity, determination, and fierceness has not dissipated. If anything, it has magnified!

So excited to get back on the track together soon and get back to training for more epic battles like this one. Shout out to our friends on SCRD, we hope you all are staying engaged and healthy! Same goes for all of you, derby fans, let’s reminisce and use these memories to motivate us towards an exciting future of roller derby in the Rogue Valley.

Join Southern Oregon Derby for our season opener, Cupid’s Showdown, on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Medford Armory (1701 S Pacific Hwy, Medford, Oregon). SO Derby will be taking on from Redding, CA.

For this game, SO Derby will be sending volunteers in the crowd to gather funds which will be going towards our service partner, of Jackson County! Also, all proceeds from our bake sale will be going to support these amazing athletes. Special Olympics Jackson County has been our service partner for 9 years and this organization is very dear to our big red hearts. Special Olympics Jackson County is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization incorporated in the state of Oregon to provide sports training and athletic competition for persons with mental disabilities. Help us help our fellow athletes train and compete! Every contribution makes an impact whether you donate $5 or $100.

SO Derby will have a killer half-time show, poster making table and derby coloring books for the kids, silent auction, bake sale, beer garden courtesy of , pizza, popcorn, and team merch available! All in addition to the hard-hitting derby action.

The 2020 Polar Plunge is coming up fast- Saturday, February 15th, starting at 11am!

“In partnership with Law Enforcement agencies, each year the Polar Plunge challenges thousands of brave people from around the state to take a dip into icy waters and raise money for a great cause. All funds raised go to supporting the programing and events of more than 12,000 athletes statewide.”

Your SO Squad has been accepted into a WFTDA sanctioned tournament held in Hawaii in May 2020. We will be training hard and saving every spare cent we have, but there’s a way you can help your Squad fundraise too! Just set aside your bottles and cans, call/message us when you have a full bag or bin, and we will dispatch a derby skater to swing by your home or place of business to pick them up! SO Derby is partnering with derby alumni, Barbara Copple, to bring you this exciting Color Street nail strips promotion!

A portion of the proceeds will go towards helping your SO Derby charter get to Hawaii for the Big Island Brawl in May!

The color/design selection is extensive, the strips are easy to apply, and they last for weeks, all for a fraction of the cost of a traditional manicure.

Join Southern Oregon Derby in collaboration with Wine & Brush Phoenix for our SO Derby SO Lovey Moonlit Romance Paint & Sip Fundraiser at 4:30pm on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Wine & Brush Phoenix (205 N Phoenix Rd suite F, Phoenix, OR 97535).

This SO Derby SO Lovey event is open to the public and is appropriate for ages 16 and up! The cost is $45 per participant ($35 of which goes to SO Derby), but the experience will be priceless!

SO Derby, 501(c)(3), is fundraising for renovations for our new practice space at Roller Odyssey as well as to raise funds for skaters who need financial assistance for travel, dues, and equipment.

For this event, SO Derby’s own Mt. Mel will be leading the Moonlit Romance class. Along with the opportunity to make great art, SO Derby will also offer wine from local vendors, a silent auction, and homemade treats!

SO Derby skaters will be at the event selling tickets for Cupid’s Showdown, our 2020 season opener; so come out and paint with us February 9th and then come support your SO Squad at our February 15th game!
