Cedar Rapids River Kings Rebranded as Cedar Rapids Titans!

Cedar Rapids, IA – In a landmark announcement that marks a new era for professional indoor football in Eastern Iowa, Rick Kranz, General Manager and Head Coach of the Cedar Rapids River Kings, has announced a full rebrand of the franchise. Effective immediately, the team will return to its roots and will now be known as the Cedar Rapids Titans.

"I feel like this was the right move for the team, the community, and the fans," said Kranz. "The Titans is where it all started, and I felt like we should go back to the roots."

The name change is more than symbolic—it represents a revitalization of the franchise’s mission, energy, and commitment to excellence both on and off the field. Since taking over leadership, Kranz has focused on building a stronger connection with the Cedar Rapids community and elevating the entire organization to new heights.

"We want the community of Cedar Rapids and our fans to know that we will be the hottest ticket in town. On and off the field, we’re going to deliver an experience that everyone can be proud of," said Kranz.

The Titans are not just reintroducing a beloved name—they are building a movement. The organization is placing a high priority on community engagement and will be seen throughout the city in schools, churches, local events, and everywhere in between.
"Everywhere you go, you’ll either see us or hear us. We’re going to be active and visible. This team belongs to the people of Cedar Rapids," Kranz continued.

Fans can also expect a noticeable improvement in the caliber of play. The Titans are assembling a roster filled with talent from top college programs and former professional players, including veterans of the NFL. This renewed focus on competitive excellence is designed to bring fast-paced, high-energy football back to Cedar Rapids in a big way.

"Our level of play will be much better than in recent years," said Kranz. "We’re putting in the work to bring you a team that can compete and entertain at the highest level."
"Love the Titans like I do!" he added.

The Cedar Rapids Titans will proudly continue as a member of American Indoor Football (AIF) and are preparing for a strong showing in the 2026 season. Fans can look forward to the unveiling of a new logo, updated merchandise, and a full slate of community events as the team prepares to reclaim its legacy and future.
