General Manager, Head Team Coach, Head Routesetter, the man with the Biceps.

Carsen and Alex are immeasurably grateful that he has chosen to stay on at RRG. He's coached dozens of climbing teams, set countless routes, and is a friendly face to everyone walking through the doors. Gaur bravely volunteered to be the first victim of our Meet the Crew posts - a series of social media posts about the super-awesome staff we have here at the gym.

"He's AMAZING" said one climber.
"He calms the room down!" Said another.
"Gaur? The one with the biceps? Good guy." said a third.

Final Update - Reopening on Wednesday!

The insurance issues are resolved!!!

The doors will be open on Wednesday, May 6th, from 6am to 9pm.

EVERYONE (yes, even you) WILL NEED A NEW WAIVER
You can fill one out on our website or at the front desk. The website will help us avoid traffic jams.

Weekday hours will remain the same.
Weekend hours will be extended, 10am - 8pm.

Memberships will resume as normal. For EFT members, this means you can expect to see a charge on the 6th. For prepaid memberships, your membership will unfreeze on the 6th. As previously stated, we will be honoring gift certificates and punch cards.

Please note that all charges will show up as Chrysalis LLC while we get the last of our paperwork sorted out.

NOW GET DOWN HERE AND CLIMB!

Update Number 2 - Progress But Still a Small Delay

Thanks to Tyler - henceforth knighted by Rogue Rock Gym - we gained access to the email account that holds the magic password which allows us to access our digital waiver!

Unfortunately, this triggered a cascade of insurance approvals. We had hoped to hear back from our insurance broker today. It is now after 5pm and we are forced to release this second update:

Climbing is still on hold for the time being.

This fresh speedbump doesn’t extend our delay past a few days but we still can’t let you climb anything just yet.

If, by some miracle, we are able to finalize this insurance change tomorrow (Friday, May 1st) we anticipate opening over the weekend. If this happens, we will post to social media, send out emails, unleash the carrier pigeons and hire a dirigible carrying a banner. Carsen also insists on a bi-plane with colored smoke writing messages in the sky.

Otherwise, it’s looking more like early next week.

We will update you tomorrow as the story unfolds - transparency is important to us.

Also, we’ve been looking forward to seeing you all, we will be at the gym tomorrow, Friday the first, from 2 to 6 for anyone who wants to stop by.

Hey Climbers,

Important update!

We have been working around the clock to get the gym ready for your return. Carsen and Alex cleaned one-thousand-and-one things and Gaur has been setting new routes.

WE ARE STILL OPENING… HOWEVER

…we may have to extend the reopening date a few days past May 1st.

Due to the change in business, we have to update the waiver that is integrated into our point of sale system. We cannot let anyone climb until they have signed the new one. To do otherwise would leave us at legal risk in the event of an accident.

Unfortunately, that waiver is locked behind a password created by an old manager in 2017. We didn’t learn about this hang-up until yesterday and we are working with tech support to try to resolve the issue. The earliest appointment they have is tomorrow morning.

We felt it was best to give you the most notice possible and will be reaching out with any updates as soon as we know more.

Rest assured, your account will not be charged until we open and will be prorated - if necessary.

We will be at the gym on Friday for anyone who wants to stop by and just say “hi”.

We are so excited to see you all on May 1st for Re-Opening Day!

We have a few updates -

1) GYM MANAGER:
We are thrilled to announce that Gaur has accepted the title of Gym Manager. Gaur's exhaustive knowledge of gym operations and long history as a staple in our climbing community have been instrumental during this transition. He's even setting a few new routes for you all as a welcome home gift.

2) EXTENDED WEEKEND HOURS:
Saturday and Sunday we will now be open from 10am to 8pm - all other hours remain the same. (Check the website for more details.)

3) PARTY!!!! (soon):
We are hoping to see all of you on May 1st when we reopen the doors - show up, hang out, climb. An official Welcome Back party is in the works for later in the month - keep an eye on your email and social media for developments.

We are so grateful for all of the support that has been pouring in through email and social media. We can't wait to see you all again soon.

Hey everyone,
I want to give you a real update.

I know the wait has been frustrating. I feel it too. I miss the gym, I miss seeing you all in there, and I want the doors open just as much as you do.

Here’s where things are at: we are actively working through a transition that would allow the gym to reopen and continue forward in a healthier, more stable way. Myself and the buyers are in alignment with our mission.

We are in the final stages of due diligence for that to happen, and that process has taken longer than I expected. It’s been a learning process for me, we have been doing the best we can. When we closed I looked many of you in the eye and promised… I will not give up on you or this community. I have not stopped working on this since the day we closed.

I also want to say — I hear the concerns about transparency. I’m doing my best to share what I can while also respecting the process and the people involved. The funds that were raised by the community have been used to keep the gym alive during this time so reopening is still possible.

The good news to share is that we are getting closer. There is real progress happening right now. I’m not ready to give a reopen date yet because I don’t want to overpromise, but we are moving in that direction. Barring any unforeseen hangups I believe it is safe to say now that we are very close.

I appreciate all of you…seriously. This community is the reason this is even still on the table. I’ll keep updating as things move. I’m really looking forward to seeing our members having fun in the gym again, and especially the kids. 🙏❤️

Right now there are still a few important pieces that need to be worked through before the gym can reopen. We are actively working toward a solution that allows the gym to operate again in a stable way for the long term.

The support from this community has meant a lot, and the goal remains the same — getting the doors open again so people can climb.
