I would like to take a moment to thank all BH residents and guests for what has been another fun, relaxing, and wonderful swimming season. We kept the pool open for an extra weekend, however today was the last day we will be open. I would like to extend our thanks for a great job performed by our lifeguard staff. They are a special group of teenagers and young adults as they are attentive and friendly. They are responsible to make sure that everyone is safe and having a great time. I would also like to acknowledge the excellent work and diligence of our Lifeguard Manager, Phil Brewer. He, along with senior lifeguard Elizabeth Brewer managed to keep us fully staffed, which is not an easy task with the lifeguard shortage. Phil is also an expert at maintaining water balance and quality, along with handling many duties that are part of operating the pool. And finally, our Administrative Manager Kara Jackowski has completed her second season and did an outstanding job. She worked to update our website, install a new QR code entry system, and managed all the registrations. She also supervised the concessions and managed the employees that kept the facilities sparkling clean. So, a great big THANK YOU to our entire team, and we will look forward to seeing everyone for the 2026 swimming season.

Reminder: Starting today, the pool will be open from 3:00pm-7:30pm on weekdays. Weekend hours remain unchanged.

Wonderful news!

We’re pleased to share that we’ll be extending our season and staying open on September 6th and 7th!

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing lifeguards who have kindly offered to work beyond the regular season. Thanks to you, our members can soak up just a little more sunshine and savor the final moments of summer together.

PLEASE NOTE: While we’re excited to extend the season, we do reserve the right to remain closed or close early on these days if the weather isn’t cooperating or due to low attendance.

The staff at BHLSTC has been having an absolute blast this summer, and it's hard to believe the season is already starting to wind down! As some of our wonderful lifeguards head back to school and college, we're making a few adjustments to our schedule.

Starting August 19, 2025, our hours of operation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM on weekdays. We will operate our normal 11-7:30 PM hours on the weekends.

We’re so grateful for your continued support and understanding, and we look forward to soaking up every last bit of summer fun with you! 🌞💦

Staff Spotlight: Meet Abby- lifeguard

Abby is off to The Ohio State University to study Chemistry this fall. She ran cross country and track all through high school, and Abby is not slowing down anytime soon — she’s joining club running in college too.

When she’s not sprinting or solving the mysteries of the periodic table, she’s works several jobs — lifeguard, swim instructor, hostess at the brewery next door, and babysitter. Abby is also a big fan of hanging out with friends and shopping!

Watch out, world — Abby’s coming for you! Make sure you give a thumbs up and say hello when you see her on the pool deck.

Staff Spotlight: Meet Carley- lifeguard

Carley has been keeping swimmers safe at the Blue Heron Pool for the past four summers! When she’s not rocking her lifeguard whistle, you’ll find her serving up smiles at the brewery next door. Carley grew up splashing around with the Piranhas swim team before trading in her goggles for a softball glove in high school. 🏊‍♀️🥎 Now she’s heading into her second year at The Ohio State University, where she’s studying architecture and building big dreams! 🏛️❤️

Staff Spotlight: Meet Brady- lifeguard

Brady is a soon-to-be senior at Medina High School. He's a proud varsity swimmer (go team! 🏊‍♀️💦) and loves staying involved—he's part of awesome clubs like HUDDLE, tutoring, and the National Honor Society. He's always diving into new ways to help and grow! 🌈📚💛 Make sure to say hello to Brady when you see him on the pool deck.

Staff spotlight: Meet Kara- Administrative Manager

Hi! I'm Kara, your administrative manager at BHLSTC. I'm the face behind all those registration mailers and emails, and I also manage concessions, special event books, customer service, and social media postings (including all these fun staff spotlights you love)!

When summer ends and the pool quiets down, I head back to the classroom where I teach refugee and immigrant kiddos to speak English. I'm a hiking enthusiast, proud mama of three, weight lifting warrior, and animal lover. In my free time, you might catch me curled up with a good thriller, sipping on coffee, or sneaking in an episode (or two!) of Bravo TV.

Staff Spotlight: Meet Brayden- lifeguard

Brayden has joined the BHLSTC team this summer as a lifeguard, and we are pleased to have him. He's a rising junior at Medina High School where he runs track. Brayden has a super cool hobby- flying! He is currently in the process of getting a private pilot's license. Be sure to ask him all about what it takes to be a private pilot when you see him off the chair next. Thanks for all you do, Brayden.
