You probably read that and thought “That’s definitely not true”, but hear us out...⁠

We don’t believe anybody joins the gym to just get fit. People join because of what they think being fit will do for them and how they will feel. It’s not fitness for the sake of fitness. It’s fitness for the things they believe they will be able to DO with their fitness and the way it will make them feel.⁠

Here are some things that people think fit people can do:⁠

1. Be happy⁠
2. Live a long time⁠
3. Live well while alive⁠
4. Get sex⁠
5. Fight off threats
6. Have confidence⁠
7. Make a better living⁠
8. Play with their kids⁠
9. Look good naked⁠
10. Stay off medications⁠

This is not an exhaustive list, and it took 40 seconds to come up with the ten examples. The point is that no one joins for the fitness, they join for the benefits of being fit.⁠

None of the above are guaranteed to someone who is fit, and none of them are out of the realm of possibility for someone who is not.⁠

⁠We realize that your fitness is MORE than just fitness. It’s about what you can do and how you feel because of it.⁠

Perhaps you’re not interested in training like a maniac while you’re home from college during winter break. In fact, we hope you take adequate time to enjoy some off days in which you do nothing but hang out with family and friends.

NOW IS A GREAT TIME to start a new exercise routine, so you can feel good going into the holiday season.

Let us be perfectly clear: we LOVE the holiday season.

We love spending time with family, celebrating traditions and we love all the delicious food and drinks that come with it. We don't believe that this is a time to feel guilty or worried about "falling behind."

We absolutely believe that you should enjoy your life.

We also know that you will feel a lot better (and less likely to feel guilty) if you go into the holiday season having already created a consistent exercise routine, paired with fueling your body to feel its best.

Traveling for the holidays? We work with you both in-person and remotely, with all of the coaching and tools you need to be successful no matter what speed bumps you have ahead.

It doesn’t matter what your upcoming holiday season might bring, we’ve got you covered.

Your ability to be compliant with your routine may alter in the coming months. As such, your training needs to support these ebbs and flows.

So many people are working out because they feel guilty if they don’t. ⁠

We hear this reasoning ALL. THE. TIME.⁣ ⁠

People training because they have negative feelings if they don’t, not because they have positive feelings when they do. ⁣⁠
⁣⁣⁠
We often ask people why they train so much or at such high intensity and they are quick to say... because I will lose my fitness if I don’t....⁣⁣⁠
⁣⁣⁠
People are so afraid of losing gains, gaining weight, or becoming less “fit”, that they feel guilty if they don’t train at a certain intensity and frequency.⁣⁣⁠

Having been around for 14 years, we have seen our share of all types of cancer. We've had the pleasure of being involved with some wonderful people who have amazing stories overcoming a brutal mistress; breast cancer.

We are here to help share their stories and bring hope to others who may someday have to make this particular journey through life.

Breast cancer doesn't discriminate.

Harbor City Health & Performance has teamed up with this charity to raise funds for this worthy cause and to honor those who have been or will be impacted by breast cancer. So far, we’ve raised $1,726 for this incredible cause.

About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 13%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. In 2021, an estimated 280k new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in U.S. women, along with 49k new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.

Donations are still being accepted for this incredible organization that helps women find their strength and their power to continue the fight against breast cancer.

We’re calling on our community to mobilize, and whether or not we’ve faced breast cancer personally ourselves, unite for all those recovering from this most painful year, and fighting to thrive.
