The scoreboard at the State Championship didn’t fall in favor of the VSLL 10U Gold All Stars this weekend, but the legacy of this squad is locked in. Out of 150 teams across Florida, this group rose to the top 4, marking the first time in 15 years that VSLL has reached the state tournament in this division.

Thank you to the coaches, the families, and this incredible community for the endless support. It was a summer of baseball these boys will never forget. We are so incredibly proud of you, 10U Gold All-Stars! The future of VSLL is bright! 💛💚

A huge THANK YOU to Dingers Training Center for generously opening your doors and donating your facility so our VSLL 10U Gold All-Star Baseball Team could get in a practice despite the rainy weather.

Your support gave our players the opportunity to keep preparing as they continue their incredible journey to the State Championship this weekend.

We are currently seeking interested candidates for key volunteer roles, including Communications, Registrar, and Scheduler. These roles help keep our league organized, informed, and ready to support our players and families.

Historic day has VSLL 10U Gold baseball All-Stars heading to state tournament To put what the Viera Suntree Little League 10U Gold All-Star baseball team accomplished this past weekend into perspective, consider this:

⚾️ BSN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: VIERA-SUNTREE 10U GOLD CAPTURES SECTION 2 CHAMPIONSHIP, ADVANCES TO FLORIDA STATE TOURNAMENT FOR FIRST TIME IN 15 YEARS ⚾️

VIERA — History has been made.

For the first time in 15 years, the Viera-Suntree Little League 10U Gold All-Stars are headed to the Florida Little League State Tournament.

VSLL captured the 2026 Section 2 Championship on Saturday with a pair of thrilling victories, rallying past Port St. Lucie National Little League 5-4 before holding off Boca Raton Little League 7-6 in the championship game.

The two victories completed another memorable chapter in an outstanding postseason run built on resilience, timely hitting, clutch pitching, and the ability to respond under pressure.

COMEBACK SENDS VSLL TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The sectional semifinals tested Viera-Suntree immediately.

Port St. Lucie National built a 4-0 lead through three innings, putting VSLL in an early hole.

Instead of folding, the Gold All-Stars answered with one of their biggest innings of the summer.

Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Braxton Gaffney delivered the biggest hit of the afternoon, lining a two-run single to put Viera-Suntree ahead 5-4.

Matthew Rogers was outstanding in relief, allowing just one unearned run over 5 2/3 innings while striking out four to earn the victory.

Crew Schaefer added two stolen bases, the offense showed tremendous patience by drawing eight walks, and the defense turned a key double play to preserve the comeback victory.

FAST START LEADS TO A SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP

With a berth in the state tournament on the line, Viera-Suntree wasted little time in the championship game against Boca Raton Little League.

VSLL erupted for six runs in the second inning, capitalizing on timely hitting, patient at-bats, and defensive miscues to seize control.

Wyatt Huffman highlighted the rally with a two-run single, while Drake Brewer, Kane Blanc, and Xander Waycaster each drew RBI walks during the six-run outburst.

Boca Raton refused to go away, scoring six runs over the final innings to pull within one, but Viera-Suntree answered every challenge.

Waycaster earned the victory after pitching four solid innings, allowing four runs while striking out four. Schaefer came on in relief to record the save and secure the Section 2 Championship.

Huffman finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Gaffney added two hits in the championship victory.

Between the District 2 Tournament and Sectionals, the VSLL 10U All-Stars are 6-0 and have outscored their competitors by a combined 56-29

NEXT STOP: ST. AUGUSTINE

With the Section 2 Championship secured, Viera-Suntree now advances to the Florida Little League 10U State Tournament, scheduled for July 17-19 in St. Augustine.

The trip marks the first appearance in the state tournament for a Viera-Suntree 10U baseball team since 2011 and represents another milestone for one of Brevard County’s premier Little League programs.

Now, the Gold All-Stars will have the opportunity to compete against the best 10-year-old teams in Florida as they continue what has already become a memorable postseason run.
