🔥Big-time recognition for one of our own.🐾

Congratulations to our defender, Olivia Eagle, on being featured by SoccerWire.com for her standout performance at the Girls Academy Spring Showcase in Greensboro. Competing against top talent from across the country, Olivia proved exactly why she’s one to watch…fast, composed, relentless, and dominant on the back line.

Her ability to read the game, win key challenges, and lead from the defensive third sets her apart. This honor is a reflection of her hard work, consistency, and commitment to the game.

Proud is an understatement. Keep going, Liv. 💚⚽🐾

BSN GIRLS SOCCER — 6A DISTRICT 6 CHAMPIONSHIP; No. 2 MELBOURNE BULLDOGS at No. 1 VIERA HAWKS; 6:00 PM Kickoff | Live on BSN YouTube

Monday night, it’s championship soccer on the Space Coast.

The 6A District 6 title is on the line as No. 1 Viera hosts No. 2 Melbourne, two familiar rivals meeting once again with a banner, seeding, and control of the postseason road at stake.

The semifinals set the tone in very different ways.

Viera punched its ticket with authority, rolling past Heritage in a 14–0 statement win that showed just how dangerous the Hawks can be when they find rhythm early.

Melbourne earned its place the hard way, grinding out a 1–0 victory over Bayside in a match that demanded patience, discipline, and composure for all 80 minutes.

The teams didn’t meet during the regular season, adding another layer of intrigue to this final. Their most recent matchup came in last year’s district championship, a tense, physical battle that ended in a 1–0 Viera win decided by a shootout, a reminder of just how thin the margin is when these programs collide.

Since 2010, Viera holds a 17–14 edge in the series and has won five straight against Melbourne — but don’t let that fool you.

25 of the 31 meetings between these teams have been decided by one goal.

That’s the rivalry.

Both teams are already positioned to reach the FHSAA State Tournament, regardless of the outcome. What’s at stake now is something just as important — who controls the road forward when regional play begins.

Viera’s attack is led by Eva McMenemy-Hoang, who enters the final with 21 goals and 7 assists, supported by Caroline Detweiler with 6 goals and 4 assists.

In goal, Cassidy Kirkley has been steady all season, logging 965 minutes, 83 saves, and a 1.575 goals-against average.

Melbourne counters with balance and toughness. Calleigh Clark leads the Bulldogs with 5 goals and 4 assists, while Zoey Di Orio adds 4 goals and 2 assists.

Between the posts, Melbourne has been strong with Evelyn Sottile and Ava Pravata, combining for 74 saves and fewer than a goal allowed per match.

Two rivals. One trophy. And a district championship that will shape what comes next.

Coverage begins at 6:00 PM, live on BSN YouTube. Don’t blink. ⚽🔥

This match is sponsored by an anonymous donor from Viera whom BSN appreciates very much and we would like to thank Krissy Knows who has also stepped up to sponsor both boys and girls soccer this season.
