Nobody is the top half all day, every day. The top half is just somebody who got the 6 AM right more often than the 10 PM went wrong.

Both of these guys are on your team. Some weeks both of them are you.

Comment the hour where you switch from top to bottom. Be honest.

"He wanted to keep playing." He always does. That was never the question.

The box score keeps the easy half of the weekend. It does not keep the car ride home, or the arm he said was fine.

Putting him back out there is a coaching decision. It is not a test of how tough he is. Hard is not the same thing as necessary.

If something hurts, say it today — to the coach, before Sunday night.

Send this to the one who needed to read it today.

Coaches and parents — what is the line you use to decide? Comment it.

Five plays. One week. Two dives that ended with somebody flat on the ground, a catcher who erased a runner in six tenths of a second, and a ten year old who caught one off the top of the fence. 🏆 Which one takes your number one spot? 👇

Two years before he was the best pitcher in the National League, he was still putting on catching gear. ⚾

Paul Skenes grew up playing travel ball in California — Lake Forest Braves, Irvine ROX. USSSA baseball. At the Air Force Academy he played both ways. He caught, and he pitched. In 2022 he won the national award for the best two way player in college baseball — the only player in the country with double digit wins on the mound and double digit home runs at the plate.

Then he transferred to LSU, put the gear away, and pitched them to a national championship.

First overall pick in 2023. Debut in May 2024. Starting the All-Star Game two months later, as a rookie. Rookie of the Year. Then the Cy Young.

He did not have it figured out at nineteen. If your kid is still deciding what they are, that is not behind. That is just the middle of it. 💛

Before spring training had a home, it had Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Babe Ruth trained there nine different years. On St. Patrick's Day, 1918, he hit a home run measured at 573 feet, out of Whittington Park and into the Arkansas Alligator Farm. The Red Sox built Majestic Field there in 1909 - some of it is still standing.

Baseball history doesn't only live in Cooperstown.

He asked in the parking lot, with the bat from March still in his hands.

There are three more in the garage. Two of them were also going to be the one that fixed everything.

Every parent in this sport has had this exact conversation next to an open trunk.

How many bats are in your garage right now? Comment the number — be honest.

One ball to right field turned into a double play four players deep. Xander Conroy fields it clean for the first out, Mason Vick reads the runner going to third, Dominic Berrios makes the relay, and Gunnar Briggs seals it with the tag at home. Wesley Chapel Storm 12U, two outs on one ball in play. ⚾

How many guys on your team would even know where to throw it? Tag the one who always makes the right read. 👇
