🏐 The Wait is Over... Welcome to the 2026–2027 FIREHAWKS Volleyball Season! πŸ”₯

We are excited to officially announce our 2026–2027 Brevard HEAT Firehawks Volleyball Rosters!

This year, we were humbled to host a record-breaking number of student-athletes at tryouts. Seeing so many young ladies step onto the court with heart, hustle, determination, and a willingness to compete made this one of the most difficult selection processes we've ever had.

To every athlete who came to tryoutsβ€”thank you. Thank you for your courage, your effort, and the countless hours you've invested to prepare. We saw athletes encourage one another, push through challenges, and compete with character. We couldn't be more proud of each of you.

Congratulations to the athletes who earned a spot on this year's Firehawks Volleyball teams! We are incredibly excited about the talent, potential, and character represented throughout this program and can't wait to see what God has in store for this season.

For those who were not selected this time, don't let this be the end of your journey. Continue working, growing, and believing in yourself. Every great athlete faces obstacles, and today's disappointment can become tomorrow's motivation.

To our 2026–2027 Firehawks...

Welcome to the family. β€οΈπŸ–€

Let's get to work!

WELCOME TO THE 2026–2027 SCHOOL YEAR! πŸ”₯

The wait is over... TRYOUT WEEK IS HERE! β€οΈπŸ–€

We couldn't be more excited to kick off another incredible year with our Firehawk family. Whether you're returning for another season or stepping onto the court, course, trail, or pool deck for the very first time, we're so glad you're here.

A new year means new teammates, new goals, new challenges, and new opportunitiesβ€”but one thing never changes...

This is where we build. This is where we grow. Together.

We're looking forward to watching athletes push themselves, friendships grow, and Christ-centered competition continue to shape lives both on and off the field of play.

Good luck to everyone trying out this week! Bring your best effort, encourage those around you, and let's start this season the Firehawk way.

Here's to an amazing 2026–2027 year. Let's make it one to remember! πŸ”₯

The world celebrates the individual.

God celebrates the servant.

Philippians 2:3-4
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

Real leadership isn't about being the loudest voice or getting the most recognition.
It's about making the people around you better.

Great teammates celebrate others' success.
Great coaches invest in people.
Great families choose service over selfishness.

Humility doesn't make you think less of yourself.
It helps you think of yourself less.

When we intentionally look for ways to encourage, serve, and lift up those around us, we begin to reflect the heart of Christ.

❀️ The strongest teams aren't built around one superstar.
They're built by people willing to put "we" before "me."

πŸ‘‡ Reflection Question:
Who can you intentionally encourage or serve this week without expecting anything in return?

COACH'S CORNER
Coach Geo | Swim

Welcome, swimmers!

Here are a few tips to help you prepare for tryouts...

Even with limited preparation time, you can make a big difference by focusing on quality, consistency, and purposeful training. Make every lap count with good technique and full effort.

Focus on these three key areas:
🏊 Technique & Speed – Swim efficiently with strong technique at race pace over short distances.
πŸ’ͺ Endurance & Pace – Build the ability to maintain a strong pace while keeping good form.
πŸš€ Starts & Turns – Practice explosive starts, tight streamlines, and quick turns.

Even 15 minutes in the pool, when used intentionally, can improve your confidence, efficiency, and overall performance.

As your coach, I want you to know that tryouts aren't just about swimming fast. I'm also watching your attitude.

I'm looking for swimmers who come ready to work, listen and apply feedback, give their best effort, stay positive through challenges, and show discipline, respect, and great sportsmanship.

Speed and technique can always be developed. What truly sets a swimmer apart is their commitment, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

A successful tryout doesn't just show me the swimmer you are todayβ€”it shows me the athlete and teammate you have the potential to become.

Good luck, and most importantly, enjoy the experience! We can't wait to see you on deck and watch you give it your best.

COACH'S CORNER
Question: What can I do to set myself up for a successful cross country season?

Coach Jackie says...
Success starts before the first race and even before the first practice.

β˜€οΈ 1. Get used to the heat.
Living in Florida means we'll be training in warm, humid conditions. Spending time outside before the season begins helps your body gradually adapt to the heat, making those first few practices much more manageable.

Whether you're taking a walk, going for a light jog, or simply being active outdoors, every little bit helps your body adjust.

Don't forget to hydrate! Drinking water consistently throughout the day is one of the best ways to prepare for training in the Florida heat.

πŸ‘Ÿ 2. Invest in the right shoes.
Not all running shoes are created equal.

A properly fitted pair of running shoes provides the support your feet need, helps improve comfort, and can reduce the risk of injuries as your mileage increases.

Coach Jackie recommends visiting Running Zone to have your feet professionally scanned. Finding the right shoe for your foot can make a huge difference throughout the season.

Remember, your shoes are your most important piece of equipment. They're an investment in your health and your performance.

πŸ”₯ Coach's Challenge
This weekend, complete these two steps:
βœ… Spend 20–30 minutes outside walking or jogging to help your body adjust to the heat.
βœ… If you haven't already, visit Running Zone and get fitted for the right pair of running shoes.

Small preparations today will help you feel stronger, more confident, and more comfortable when tryouts begin on Monday.

See you at the starting line!
