Flamingo 5K Put on Hold for 2021 Due to COVID-19

The 36th Annual Melbourne Art Festival will once again be held among the trees and lakes at beautiful Wickham Park in Melbourne, FL April 24 & 25, 2021 but several festival main stays had to be put on hold or scaled back including the Flamingo 5K.

The annual festival, which draws tens of thousands of art and music lovers, is a vibrant family friendly event that promotes and encourages artistic endeavors, education and appreciation of the arts in Brevard County.

Melbourne Art Festival has eliminated or scaled back several of the activities that normally draw larger gatherings at the event including the 5K. Due to safety concerns for vendors, attendees and volunteers amid the ongoing pandemic, it was decided to place the Patron program and 5K race on hold for 2021 while scaling back on some children actives and the live music program.

Canceled last year due to the pandemic, this year’s scaled down, COVID compliant, festival will still feature approximately 200 artists, live music, kid friendly activities, a virtual art competition for students, sponsor displays, and diverse food and beverage options in a serene park setting with plenty of parking. The Melbourne Art Festival offers FREE admission, FREE parking, FREE children’s activities and FREE live entertainment throughout the weekend. All CDC recommendations for holding a safe, Covid Compliant, festival will be followed.

We hope to see you at this year's festival and again next year for the 2022 Flamingo 5K.

Unfortunately the Melbourne Art Festival and the 2020 Flamingo 5K Run/Walk have been canceled.

The Melbourne Art Festival 5K Flamingo Run is TOMORROW - Saturday, April 27th starting at 7:30 a.m.

After the race, runners can enjoy a huge spread of mouth-watering treats including an array of fresh fruits, breads, juices, sandwiches, bottled water and even complimentary beer! Plus a DJ playing tunes and prize giveaways.

Awards are provided in 15 age categories as well as for overall, master, and team challenge (101 in total).
