What a night at Cardinal Stadium! From an incredible football game to a special moment celebrating two outstanding people who have left their mark on Melvindale Athletics.

We were honored to officially induct Mike Hill and Cordell Bell into the 2026 Melvindale Athletics Hall of Fame.

Two great people. Two great athletes. Two great Cardinals.

Congratulations, Mike and Cordell, and thank you for everything you have given to Melvindale Athletics. Your legacy will forever be a part of Cardinal history.

Please join on us for an AWESOME Friday night under the lights! Two Cardinals will be recognized at half time for the 2026 HALL OF FAME!

Prior to the National Anthem we will recognize all first responders and military (who also get in for free with valid credentials).

Show up, show pride, and show LOVE to everyone that puts their life on the line, the Inducted Cardinals for wearing the Birds so Proudly, and the players and coaches during the game!

We love our community and appreciate all the support!

We need 3 and no experience needed. Coaches and refs will help. It’s also a great view for the in field action!

Good morning Cardinal Nation! Hope everyone is planning to relax and enjoy this weekend regardless of the weather.

We have our first home football game on Friday 9/11. It is going to be a Salute to Service Appreciation game.

Who: Police, Fire, EMS, and ALL Military branch services active or retired may receive free admission and a moment of recognition from the bleachers immediately before the National Anthem!

Why: To show love and and care to the members that protect and provide safety to our community and more!

How: Show your ID/credentials to the admission staff

When/Where: Friday, 9/11 at Cardinal Stadium in Melvindale - Game time is 6 PM.

The season has begun. Doubles are over, and it's scrimmage week.

Scrimmage Time Change — START TIME IS 5 PM vs. Detroit Osborn HS

We started off great last week, and the energy was high. We need to continue the discipline of courage, commitment, communication, and competition. Attending every practice allows you to learn, grow, and support your TEAMMATES. This is not an individual sport, and we need everyone every day.

Everyone who joined received FREE GEAR, and we fed the players Jimmy John's during Friday's break. It is not too late to become an MHS Football player, so please tell anyone interested to meet at Cardinal Stadium at 2:45 PM any day of the week or contact Coach Merrell.

We are looking for TEAM MEAL help. We want to provide meals to our players the day before each game. Our first dinner is next Wednesday. Help can include any of the following: donations, sponsorships, shopping (plates, napkins, plasticware, food/drinks), setup/serving, or cleanup.

Meal ideas could include pasta, taco bars, burgers, hot dogs/brats, ribs, chicken, etc., with sides such as salad, fruits/veggies, and dinner rolls.
