There is difference between being and doing. Being is a characteristic of a flow state. It is this flow state that enables one to play higher level golf. Our breath is a fundamental means to facilitate the brain into the present. The breath helps calm the nervous system as well as provide a connection to the present. The use of breath helps our mental agility and provides a window into flow which is part and parcel of higher golf. However, this is just the starting point. More to come in future posts.

Golf course was wide open today. Spent 4 hours with working on her game as well as my own.
Golf is the great enigma. The concept of Being and not Doing. Being aware but not thinking as you execute. Mentally being able to go from the analytical to autopilot. Staying anchored to the process and not getting hung up with outcomes. Approaching complexity with curiosity rather than with a mindset of depravity.
Golf is an expression of artistry using the body and the mind as a power source and guidance system.
I am very fortunate to have spent time with some of the best in the business. The last three years I have had the time to apply many theories. I am looking forward to sharing some of my insights. Looking forward to sharing my perspectives, my struggles, and the wisdom I have gleaned from the process.
Interestingly, out of all the brilliant minds I have had the privilege to be around - Dr Raymond Prior has made the biggest impression. That is, to understand survival and how the mind works one can begin to explore the application of ideas more soberly. Becoming rational with your mindset, to revaluate and reorder one’s psychological framework to redirect awareness, to develop a confidence that is self validating. Understanding the destructiveness of A-shaped beliefs and experiencing success with V- shaped beliefs. Understanding why I had issues executing under pressure has opened a door to a more robust journey that I am ready to share.
This isn’t to say that the other brilliant teachers aren’t as brilliant. What I am learning is that I am more able to appreciate the biomechanics of golf because I am more able to apply them under pressure. Not only can I declare a concept I am more readily experiencing ideas and concepts successfully as I play.

Discovering the journey of self is a profound gift. Meeting Raymond Prior was a wake-up call that brought clarity and transformation to my life. His work quietly resonated with me, and I found my own convictions pushing for change. As shown above, our thoughts can vary. How we think can impact both our neurology and physiology - a concept Dr. Prior sheds light on. In golf, creating mental space through cognitive diffusion can optimize performance. Dr. Prior's insights offer direction for better cognitive function and a brighter future. Dive deeper with his book 'Golf Beneath the Surface' or join him at codebreakersgolf.com for a chance to learn from him directly.
Over the last 6 months I have been working with the crew at TLC physical therapy, under the supervision of . Videos to follow. I am still weak in series of muscle groups and tight on others. I will begin to share the process in the coming weeks. 2026 focus is to be proactive with thoughts by turning them into action.
Hitting the driver better. 1) Becoming aware of staying in posture. 2) Becoming more aware of impact on face.
Day 3 with .jr.
.jr 🕯️
Spent some quality time with my brother on the driving range. Funny how our golf swings match. Bet Scott would give me a run for my money if he played more often.
This young man was striping 2 irons 270 yards when I walked up to the range. Self taught . Hope he stays with it. Fun to watch young talent!
Isolating the hand path from the trail elbow path can unlock the road to more functional 3d face movements (face, path, and AOA). Here are three moments with my wife yesterday. We will work more today and unpack the trail arm motion in greater detail. So this is part 1 of 2.
