Yesterday was all about building explosive power, athleticism, and team chemistry! Our athletes worked through a challenging plyometric circuit before finishing practice with a little friendly competition in a 200-meter relay.

Plyometrics are an important part of track and field training because they help athletes develop explosive strength, increase speed, improve coordination, and enhance their ability to produce force quickly. Whether you’re sprinting, hurdling, jumping, or running distance, learning to apply force efficiently can make a huge difference in performance.
We wrapped up the day with an ab workout that doubled as a team-building activity. Athletes worked together passing a medicine ball down the line while holding a boat pose, challenging both their core strength and communication. Strong athletes are important, but strong teammates are just as valuable.

🩷Every workout has a purpose, and every day we are taking steps toward becoming better athletes and better teammates.🩵

It’s only been 1 week of training, and our athletes are already learning what it means to push through discomfort, stay disciplined, and trust the process.
Today was tough. We focused on speed endurance, sprint mechanics, explosive power, and core strength. From hurdle drills and high knees to single-leg pogos and planks, every rep had a purpose.

The work isn’t always pretty. The legs get tired. The lungs burn. But growth happens when athletes keep going anyway.

One week down. Many more lessons, PRs, and breakthroughs ahead.

“Yesterday’s hill circuit definitely had the athletes feeling it , but that’s where growth happens. Hill work is one of the best ways to build power, speed, strength, endurance, and proper sprint mechanics for track & field athletes. It helps improve knee drive, explosiveness, acceleration, and mental toughness while reducing some of the pounding athletes take on the track.

Every extra rep. Every hill. Every workout matters.

K&B III Track Club is continuing to put in the work this offseason, and Summer 2026 registration is officially OPEN. Training is Mental & Physical

Today our extra training athletes got after it! We focused on running the curve and sharpening that top-end speed 🤍
We wrapped it up with ab work because a strong core = better posture, more power, and efficient sprint mechanics 🩷💜🩵🤍

That hill work isn’t just extra—it’s essential. Hills build power, acceleration, and strong sprint mechanics, helping our athletes explode out the blocks and finish races strong. Every rep is a step toward faster times. 🩷

Proud of our athletes getting that EXTRA work in when it’s not easy. 💜

Last Sunday in Birmingham, our athletes showed up and showed out.

From the first event to the last race, the focus was clear — compete, execute, and improve. And that’s exactly what they did.

What made us most proud wasn’t just the medals — it was the growth. Athletes trusted their training, stayed composed under pressure, and fought through every phase of their races.

Every meet is a building block. Birmingham was another step forward as we continue sharpening for the end of indoor and the beginning of outdoor 🩷💜🩵🤍🩵💜🩷💜🩵🩵🩵💜🩷💜🩵🩵💜🩷

💕🤍💜🩵🩷Often we share with our athletes how our generation was so competitive. We would challenge anyone, anytime, anywhere. We would say “I bet you can’t beat me doing ….” Oh and it was a match happening. One great match I remember is handstands. Somehow in the mix we have changed the dynamics of athleticism. But oh was I surprised today when I finished my paper for school and walked in on Coach J finishing up training….Handstand Competition and they were competing too.

We work but we have fun as well…💕🩷🤍💜🩵 it’s all worth it.

Saturdays are made for legs & hips.
This morning we got it IN at Prime Drive—building power from the ground up. First we started with directed high knees, butt kicks, and quick feet (don’t go past the Coach).

For track & field athletes, strong hips are everything. Your hips drive speed, power, and stability. They control knee lift, stride length, and force production while helping protect the knees, hamstrings, and lower back. A strong hip complex means more explosive starts, stronger top-end speed, better change of direction, and fewer injuries.

We don’t just train to look strong—we train to move fast, move efficiently, and stay healthy. The weight room supports the work we put in on the track. Everyday= intentional work
