Word for Today: Matthew 13:58 And He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Jesus was not loved and respected by those who knew Him and grew up with Him. Think it not strange that the people who should be supportive are the same people who don't support and don't appreciate us. Jesus could have done greater things for friends and family, but they lacked one thing and that was faith. They didn't see Jesus as the Son of God. They saw Him as, "Jesus, someone they lived and grew up with. To them He was only the son of Mary and Joseph. God surrounds us with greatness, but many times we can not see it because of our lack of faith. Remember, "Without faith it's impossible to please God." It wasn't that Jesus couldn't perform miracles, but He wouldn't because of their lack of faith. Just because someone grew up with us doesn't mean they can't be great!~~~
Prayer for Today: Dear Lord our God, we give You praise, honor and glory. We know that it was You and You alone who woke us up. You are the strength of our lives and without You we wouldn't exist. There are times when we stray from the path You sat before us. Before we go too far or stay too long in the wrong place, steer us in the right direction. Keep our feet from stumbling. We know there is peace and safety in Your arms. Touch our family and friends to know when they've crossed the lines of decency and privacy. Some stay too long and don't know when it's time for them to leave and start taking care of themselves. Father, we have mountains that need to be moved and rivers we need to cross. We need You to help us in every way. Manifest miracles of healing and deliverance. Take us to higher spiritual heights. Hold us tight and keep us close. In the name of Jesus, we pray.~~~
Word for Today: Jeremiah 5:2 And though they say, The LORD liveth, surely they swear falsely. It sounds as if Jeremiah read some of our Instagram and Facebook posts. Most have a zeal of God but not according to righteousness. We've all read those posts by Believers saying things that totally contradict and in comes cases blaspheme the name of the Lord. Statements like, "I want to thank God for MF birthday." God's name shouldn't be used in such a profane manner. Whether it's that statement or similiar, Believers need to be mindful of how we use God's name. Politicians and other leaders use God's name while making false statements and those who are weak minded support them simply because they used God's name. We (not ye, but me too) must pay close attention to what we say publicaly especially when using the Lord's name. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says Lord Lord shall enter into the kingdom of God."~~~
Prayer for Today: Dear Father thanks for interupting my sleep. There is no greater joy than to talk to You while most of the city is sleep. Speak now for I am listening. Not only did You awaken me, but there are others who regularly wake up during the early morning hours and enjoy that special time with You. Thanks for loving us enough to give us life and offer us life more abundantly. We are not deserving of the least of Your blessings. Thanks for blessings of all sorts. Sometimes You blessed us by not allowing us to have what we asked for. We know that You know what's best for us. Father, give us peace in our homes and on our jobs. Money can not purchase peace of mind, therefore we pray to You who is able to give us that which money can not buy. Touch our lives in a mighty way. Help others to see You working in us and through us to accomplish Your Will. Keep us as we go about this day. Hold us in Your mighty hands. In the name of Jesus, we pray, so let it be.~~~
Word of the Day: Luke 14:8 When Thour art bidden by any man to a wedding, sit not down in the chief seat, lest a more honorable man than thou be bidden of him. Jesus constantly taught His disciples the importance of being humble. We should not put ourselves on a pedestal. This doesn't mean we shouldn't be confident, but we should not be haughty to the point of thinking people owe us or that others should bow down to us. We should always respect authority and never think of ourselves to be more than what we are. We are children of the Most High God! Yet, Jesus humbled Himself and showed Himself to be a lover of people high and low. This is why the common people heard Him gladly. Let others speak highly of you, and watch what happens. Sit low when attending a wedding. It's better to be asked to come up than to be told to go down.~~~
Prayer for Today: Dear Lord our God, and our Father, thanks. Your blessings are innumerable and Your love is everlasting. We are grateful for Your continued presence. You are the source of our supply. Whatever we need, whatever we want You have it. Forgive us for our sins. Continue the work You started in us since the day we were born. Create in us a clean heart and a clean mind. There are times our mind is not in the right place. We need help so that we will focus on the important things in life. Make us a blessing to our family and friends and even to strangers. May they see the God in us without us having to tell them who we are. Bless the works of our hands. Make us prosper in all that we do. Make our lives a blessing to others. Protect us and keep us from hurt, harm and danger. In the name of Jesus, we pray.~~~
Word for Today: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Jesus made it plain why we must choose Him over Satan. Satan is a thief who means mankind no good. It doesn't matter when or how he enters our lives his goal is to steal, kill and destroy. Satan is not our friend! Jesus told us what His purpose is for us. He came into the world to give us life and life more abundantly. Don't be like the people who stood before Jesus and Barabus. They chose a violent criminal over the Giver of life. As Jousha said, "Choose you this day whom you will serve." The choice is personal and the decision will determine our eternal destiny. If you are still wondering what to do, let me encourage you to make Jesus your choice.***
Prayer for Today: Oh Lord our God, thanks for life. You are the giver of life and You and You alone make our lives worth living. We know we don't always do right despite our best efforts. Sometimes we do things that we shouldn't and at other times we fail to keep Your commandments. Your love for us causes us to receive blessings we don't deserve and to avoid harsh punishment for our sins. It's only right that we ask for forgiveness. Forgive us like You have so many times in the past. Wipe away our tears, and ease our burdens. We know it's Your Will for us to prosper and be in good health. Give us the same mind, and teach us how to love ourselves enough to make it possible. The world is a dangerous place. You are our protection. Be with us and be a fence around us everyday. Bless us according to Your good Will. In the name of Jesus we pray.***
Word for Today: Philippians 4:13 in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible is "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. God never promised that our lives would be easy. He promised that we wouldn't have to struggle. He did promise that He would that He would be with us always even into the end of the world. Though our lives have not been everything we desire God is faithful. He gives us hope when all hope seems to be gone. He give us strength to stand the storms. When it rains He's our umbrella. He makes us prosper in unfavorable situations. We are grateful that His strength is ours. Alone we couldn't handle the burdens and hardships of life but with Him by our side we can and we will make it!***
Prayer for Today: To the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and our father too, thanks for blessings and miracles unearned and undeserved. Your blessings are innumerable. Forgive us for our sins. We pray for forgiveness not only for ourselves but for all our family and friends. As we're preparing to start our day, we ask You to go before us. Clear our paths and make us prosper in all things good. If we falter along the way discipline us with Your tender mercy coupled with grace. Never allow us to stray so far away that we cannot find our way back. Heal the relationships that are broken and bless the families of those who were close but are presently estranged. Teach us how to teach our children and grandchildren how to trust in You and to fend for themselves. Cover us and hold our hands. We need You every second of the hour. We ask for Divine protection because we need it. I'm the name of Jesus, we pray ***
Word for Today: Luke 18:30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and the time to come life everlasting. Peter was very honest. He asked Jesus what would they get for leaving everything to follow Him. Jesus told Peter that those who follow Him shall be blessed in this world and in the world to come. Jesus doesn't just promise us "A pie in the sky." He can and will bless us in this life as well. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof and God can give what He wants to whom He wants to. He also tells Peter that they will be blessed with something greater than anything the world could offer, and that is life everlasting. Life and life more abundantly. What more can we ask for?~~~
Prayer for Today: Dear God our Father, it's another one of Your blessings. Just to be alive and to know You in the pardon of our sins is a blessing. Besides that, we woke up, and have a reasonable portion of health and strength. Some of us move better than others, but we're grateful to be moving at all. Forgive us for not always doing Your Will. Forgive us for our sins. We can't wait until the day comes when we will no longer be subject to the power ,or the presence of sin. Until that day comes have mercy on us. The forces of evil are always working against us. We ask You to be our battle axe in this spiritual war. Give us the victory over those who would destory us if they could. Anoint us to be a light, so that we can show others that You are the way, the truth and the life. Protect us under the shadow of Your wings. Be with us now and forever. In the name of Jesus, we pray.~~~
Word for Today: John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. Believers shouldn't waste a lot of time trying to be accepted and loved by the world. We should be loving and kind to everyone, but not to the point of sacrificing our morals and values. It's a fact that when anyone stands for what's right and especially stand for God we will be hated by most. This shouldn't come as a surprise. Jesus came to save the entire world and He was hated. He loved the world, but the world didn't love Him. They hated Him because He shined the light on their sinful and wicked behavior. Light always hurts the eyes of those who have been in the dark for along time. Seek to be respected, but never seek to be loved. If the world hates us for being followers of Jesus, remember that hated Him before they hated us.~~~
Prayer for Today: Lord, thanks for Your faithfulness. Your mercy is truly everlasting. It was Your mercy that woke us up and started us on our way. We didn't get the punishment we rightly deserved. Grace prevailed and time finds us here again. Forgive us for our sins. We shall continue to persue a life of righteousness and holiness. When we fall, pick us up. Bless us according to our needs. We could specicy them, but You know better than we do what's best for us. Return that which was lost and grant us the opportunity to rise above everything the enemy is doing to stop our forward progress. We've fallen, but in the name of Jesus, we shall rise. Wash us in the Blood of the Lamb and shower us with favor and loving kindness. Walk with us. Talk with us because we are Yours. Keep us safe as we transgress this evil and wicked world. In the name of Jesus, we pray.~~~
Word for Today: Mark 12:12 And they sought to lay hold on Him, but feared the people; for they knew that He had spoken the parable against them; and they left Him and went their way. Jesus didn't hesitate to tell His distractors and enemies how He felt about them. He was not a coward. He didn't throw rocks and then hide His hands. He was so bold (just like in this parable) that His enemies wanted to kill Him. They would have killed Him long before He was crucified, but it wasn't His time. Many of us keep silent or don't act in certain situations because we are afraid of losing our lives. Our last day here on earth has already been determined. No one can change that day. We must work, the works of Him who has sent us while it is day. When it's our time, it's our time. Until then we must do the will of God whether people agree or disagree, whether they like it or not.~~~
