Howard Moore Racing

In the 30 races, I was in the 360 27 times. I had four wins, 8 top 5’s, 15 top 10’s. I didn’t make it out of the b main once on the prelim night at Short Track Nationals. I had one DNF when my wing tree broke at I-30. There were five races that I made the show but was mid pack to last. Our team was also able to win the ASCS Mid South Regional Championship. I say team because there is no way I could have done it without my crew. Mr. Mike, Mr. Billy, Dad and Ricky are the best. Starting pole of the Short Track Nationals and running third was almost as good of a feeling as winning a regular night of racing.

I was able to race the 410 only two times. I love racing this car but my options are limited because the races are so far away. One of the races I didn’t finish because of mechanical issues and running hot. The other night I entered my first World of Outlaws competition. I started 19th in the feature and was scored 20th. I am not ashamed but yet humbled with my performance. I was in a field of cars that I know are at a higher caliber and I respect that. I feel like I need a little more seat time in the 410 class before hitting the track with them again.

In my only night in the midget, I was 6th in the b main.

Looking back over the entire year, I can’t help but think about how blessed I am to be surrounded by the caliber of racers and car owners that I have been. The opportunities I have been given this year may seem small to some but mean the world to me. I am truly grateful for each and every one of them and all of the people involved. When I started college, I was upset that the racing schedule would be cut so short but in reality, it has given me some opportunities that may have not happened otherwise.

My plans for the 2019 race season haven’t been completely nailed down quite yet. As far as 360 and 410 racing, we will do what we have been. I would like to fit more midget racing in there somewhere. I will race around my college schedule.

I am happy to say that I am entered to race the Chili Bowl for the first time ever in 2019. I am excited to have the opportunity. I don’t have but a couple of midget races under my belt but I am looking forward to racing a few more here and there.

I am very fortunate to have Mr. Mike Ward as my crew chief. It’s nice to have someone who understands me in the pits and in the shop with me weekly. I for sure would not have had the success on the track this year without him. I am grateful for all he has done for me.

I have some of the best fans and I look forward to seeing everyone at the races.
