Divisional matchup should set up close contest anyways , but Seattle seemingly plays every in 1? possesion games. Rams defense lead by D-line will cause trouble. Long drives may be difficult without big plays on both sides. Rams are good despite their slips at end of the season, but the Seahawks are the better team, with top elite qb , I got Seahawks , 28-26.

Tampa Bay Buccs 11-5 VS Washington Football Team. 7-9.
Don’t let that 7-9 fool you to much. Had alex smith been ready week 1, they’re more than likely 10-6. Smith isn’t 100% going in, must establish running game. Washington with best defensive live and probably best coached defense in the NFL will have to get pressure. Sack Brady early sack him late. Buccs have been playing well. If smith were 100%, I’d be inclined to pick WFT, very difficult game when you break down matchups. I’ll go Tampa 26-20 overtime

QB carrousel at end of the season. Dak is the only legitimate starter that’s a free agent. I believe Phillip Rivers and Drew Brees retire. I can see Wentz reuniting with Frank Reich in Indy, 9ers can get out the Jimmy G contract this off season , I believe they will if can pick up Matt Ryan from rebuilding Atlanta. Matt Stafford to the Patriots or if 9ers make that move I mentioned , Jimmy Goroppolo back to New England. I don’t think Kirk Cousins will be back in Minnesota , maybe Stafford or Daulton lands there. Washington then picks up Stafford or Fitzpatrick. It Rothlisburger retires , good spot for Cousins. Almost half the league could have new starting qb come 2021.

MVP is an award supposed to be for most valuable. Some think it’s for best player, some think best player on best team. Some think best statistical player. In the NFL most believe it was best qb for the season. Numbers don’t lie but they can be misleading. I believe it’s a mixture of all those things. Because all the candidates are extremely valuable , all are amongst best in the league. Quarterback bring the most valuable position in sports , it’s hard to give the award to a non qb. Having said all that, Rodgers, in my humble opinion , is neither the best qb or the best qb on the best team.

I’m not sh****ng on Rodgers , great year , just like every season. All these guys statistically are right there. Mahomes has lead his team as he continues to get better, only 1 loss as defending champs with target on their backs , hard to argue. Russel Wilson IMO has been the best qb last 3 seasons, and while Seattle is a win over the 9ers and a playoff hopefull Bears win over the Packers away from number 1 seed in the NFC. Noted that Wilson undoubtedly has the worst offensive line of all the candidates. Josh Allen has continued to progress, leading the Bills to back to back playoff appearances , which hadn’t been done in buffalo since Tom Brady entered the League in 2000. Allen gets a legitimate number 1 WR in Diggs, and the Bills win the AFC East for first time since 1995. Derrick Henry gives Tennessee an identity and has Ryan Tannehill putting up MVP numbers. Rodgers is amazing and put up a lot of points. Going 2-2 VS winning teams including loss to the colts and 4 score loss to Tampa. While running up scores and padding stats vs the Eagles, Jags of the league. Wilson , Allen , Mahomes and Henry all played tougher schedules and had to make more key plays down the stretch in the clutch for their teams to win. That’s just my take.

Philadelphia head coach , seemingly reluctant to do so, named Jalen Hurtz his starting quarterback, as the red hot smoking NFC’s number 1 seeded Saints and their top 3 defense come into Philly. Many to really all NFL, sports analyst across all networks questioning and criticizing the Eagles Super Bowl winning coach for doing so. The Eagles on a rough 4 game losing streak , its to be mentioned that the Eagles were struggling across the board as a team , not just their pro bowl quarterback. Defense struggling on 3rd downs , getting very little to no pressure on opposing quarterbacks , amongst bottom of the league in forcing turn overs , this aftert trading for top 5 cornerback Darius Slay from the Lions in the off season. Now granted , I mean every and all Oklahoma quarterbacks put up great numbers , especially the last couple decades. But I thought Hurtz was an NFL qb. As an Eagles fan , I loved drafting him in the 2nd round. 1 I love his game , 2ndly Wentz has not been able to finish the season , including , of course as everyone knows about Wentz tearing his ACL after leading the awa goes to an 11-2 record and was front runner for league MVP, and after initially tearing his ACL, finished the drive and threw a touch down at the LA Rams. Then Nick Foles stepped in at that point , leading the Eagles in that game on a game winning drive and of course the Superbowl run , defeating the dynasty Patriots and winning Superbowl MVP, the Philly Special that’s a statue outside the Link. Then the Following season , Wentz put on the shelf with the Eagles at 6-7 and not looking like a playoff run to defend the title was going to happen , again , in LA, the Eagles, lead by Foles , again defeat the NFC’s top team in the Rams. Foles then lead the 6-7 eagles to 3 straight wins and a wildcard win at Chicago. Defending champion eagles would lose to top seed Saints as Foles was leading the Eagles down the field for a game winning td only to have a pass bounce off Alshon Jeffery’s hand to be intercepted inside the Saints 20 with under 1:30 to play. The Eagles letting Foles go, wasnt popular decision. Wentz then finishes the season , starting and finishing all 16 games and winning the NFC East with a 4 game winning streak to end the season. Then in Wentz 1st playoff game , knocked out the game, by what I thought was a dirty hit by Seattle’s defensive end Jadaveon Clowney. The game came down to the end but this time no Foles magic , it was 40 year old Josh Mccown. So Eagles need ring a back up , as all teams do , but especially with lack of confidence in Wentz’s ability to stay healthy. I was calling for Hurtz to play since week 3. Most professional analyst saw/see Hurtz and a Tim Tebow like gadget gimmick qb not a starting true nfl quarterback. Hurtz was the spark , as I said the whole team rallied around the kid, knowing obviously season is essentially on the line and Hurtz can’t carry the team, atleast not yet. So the pros saying throwing the rookie to the wolves so to speak. Saints had I believe 30+ consecutive games of not allowing a 100 yard rusher. Well Hurtz as I stated hit over a 100 joining reigning MVP Lamar Jackson as only rookies in league history to rush fir 100 yards in their first start , and Miles Sanders also rushed for over 100 yards to end the Saints 9 game winning streak , 30+ game streak not allowing 100 yard rusher with 2 guys rushing over 100 yards. I believe Pederson is damn good coach coming from the great Andy Reid coaching tree. I believe Hurtz has great work ethic and very coachable , so Hurtz gets coached up, rookie wide outs get more comfortable, Zack Ertz returning giving them 2 top level tight ends , most importantly getting the running game going and being a running team. Will Hurtz remain the starter the rest of the season ? Unless he just becomes turnover prone , or gets injured , I say yes, he remains the starter, and will become the 2nd guy in the Wentz era to lead the team to playing better football as a team and winning football. I will post my article on Wentz soon , but this is about Jalen Hurtz. Don’t fall in love with size and arm strength. Fall in love with work ethic , leadership qualities , fall in love with playing winning football not turning the ball over. I’m not a blame the refs type dude, yea there’s bad calls , missed calls, even seemingly biased in some form or another. I’m not going to say grizzlies lost for anything to do with the refs. What I will say, Mccullom , Melo , of course Lilliard all made clutchh shots in the 4th for portland. Grizz were up 8 with less than 3 minutes left. No question about it, if I’m a network broadcasting the NBA playoffs , I know I want all the superstars I can get. I want as much must watch as possible. I’d much rather have bubble MVP and best point guard in the league , 2nd best back court , and a rejuvenated all time elite scorer chasing a ring , playing against the face of the league Lebron , Anthony Davis and the best franchise in basketball history , the Lakers. So having said that , Grizzlies poor shooting put them behind 20 points early, including grizzlies 1-2 free throw shooting vs Blazers 13 of 14 shooting from the strike. Did seem like any questionable call , missed call , bad call , ghost foul , replay at end of game determining possession , all coincidentally went against the younger , less star powered grizzlies. Grizzlies played their hearts out and left it in the court. No one expecting them to be there, and in the future the theory backing my belief of refs leaning towards star player will favor Memphis, until the “ Point God” takes his talent to a contending city. As a final statement, I hate the refs.

With the thorn in his side , or road block , the Golden State Warriors dynasty not in the ‘20 playoffs. Like Lebron finally got out of Toronto’s way last year , this the year for Lilliard to lead his Blazers to the promise land ? May not be the Warriors in his path, but Lilliard being on a mission to silence his critics and prove his elite status is justified. I believe he wants all the smoke. Would leave little to question , asterisk or not.

If he was black , he’d be compared to Lebron instead of Larry Bird. They’ll go as far as for example “ he’s like Steve Nash mixed with Dirk with a mince of Toni Kukoc “ instead comparing to who he reminds me of, which is lebron James. Top 10 greatest NFL wide receivers I ever had the luxury of seeing play , that’s NOT in the Hall Of Fame, not yet anyways. As you know , I do not go strictly by numbers , as I believe numbers don’t lie but they can be deceiving. I trust my eyes more than anything. Some selections may surprise you , but it’s my list. Feel free to drop yours in the comments. Please share. Thank you.

Couple honorable mentions. Irving Fryar caught over 800 passes and 84 touch downs. Was the only player to score on the legendary 85 bears in the playoffs , scoring a meaningless touchdown in SuperBowl 20 as a rookie. Eric Moulds wasted his career in Buffalo in the post Marv Levy Era. Still managed to be for a stretch the best wr in the game no one talked about. He never had a pro bowl qb, still was 5 yards shy of 10,000 yards receiving for a career barely played a decade. Wes Welker was the initial little white guy in the slot. Now while he was hell of a football. Great returner , was good playmaker. Spent couple years in Miami before Patriots snatched him up. Where he would pave the way for the 3 yArd rout offenses. Played with Brady and Peyton Manning in their primes , registered over 900 receptions before concussions would take their toll. Good player. Last honorable mention is Torrie Holt. A lot people have him as a hall of famer, I just thought he landed right place right time. As a rookie was the number 2 receiver as part of “ The Greatest Show on Turf” playing opposite hall of famer and Memphis St alum Issac Bruce with break out star and hall of fame qb Kurt Warner , and one the top 2 or 3 running backs and that seasons MVP and Hall of famer , Marshal Faulk. Over 13,000 yards receiving ranks 6th all time. Now those were my honorable mentions , here’s my top 10 list.

10. Brandon Marshall. Never playing in the playoffs. Only player to catch 100 + passes for 3 different teams. 970 receptions , 12,351 yards and 83 td’s. Great rout runner with deceptively good speed for 6’5 230lb frame. RJay Cutler was his best qb, plying with him in both Denver and Chicago.

9. Hines Ward. Ward caught 1000 passes on the nose. Model of consistency only o e season over 100 receptions. Was known as most physical reviewer. Recievers generally looked at as divas ge was always looked at as a football player, probably best blocking receiver I ever saw and he took pride in that. Career long Steeler , watched many come and go on the other side. Never met a fan that had anything bad or negative to say about Ward.

8. Jimmy Smith. Rookie year drafted on that 92 super bowl winning Dallas Cowboys team. Rarely used only 22 receptions. Having his own problems didn’t touch the field in the 2nd season and on his way out the league , Tom Caughlin was the 1st head coach for brand new franchise in the AFC South , Jacksonville Jaguars. He did not waste this 2nd chance. From 95-05 , and still, 15 years since he retired , Jags all time leading receiver. Over 800 receptions , leading the NFL in catches for a season , over 12,000 yards and 67 td’s. For a run 1st offense , had decent qb’s with Brunel , Byron Leftwich. Was even better in the playoffs , in 9 games 49 catches for 647 yards 7 touch downs , also still Jacksonville’s playoff record. Recovering from torn ACL in mid 90”s battling addiction. He’s a great story and said ng his peers , the most under rated wide out in history.

7. Chad Johnson /Ocho Cinco. I am not going to count that Bu****it season in New England , which probably costed him a chance at the HOF. Then when looked like was getting a chance at redemption in Miami , to only get cut in the preseason , famously on Hard Nox by coach Philbin , who had no business being a head coach. Chad most famous fir his celebrations. River dancing , HOF jacket , proposing to a cheer leader on the side line among others. Got into celebration battles with Terrel Owens. Ocho Cinco was much more than celebrations and a gold grill. Fir a 3 or 4 year stretch he was a top 3 receiver in the game. He was fun to watch play and one day will dawn that gold jacket.

6. Anquan Boldin - One my favorite recievers of all time. Much like previously mentioned Hines Ward, known as a football player. He was a great rout runner , wasn’t blazing LT fast but would burn you , was a weapon in the run game. As he got older became more of a possession receiver , being one the key acquisitions for Jon Harbaugh and the 2012 Champion Baltimore Ravens. As a rookie 101 catches almost 1400 yards receiving and 8 touch downs on a bad Cardinals team. As all around a receiver you could ask fir , unselfish , would be a returner , play special teams , whatever for the team. Love Anquan Boldin.

5. Calvin Johnson playing only 9 seasons before an alarming , surprising everyone retirement. He and Stafford put up Hall Of Fame numbers togather. At 6’6ish 240 , only player to have Randy Moss type speed, athleticism, just a freak. Once in a lifetime athlete with that size. 9 seasons over 11,000 yards, 7 consecutive seasons of 100+ receptions and 1,000 yards receiving. 83 td’s. In 2 playoff games put up almost 300 yRds. Now his hands were questionable. Really only flaw I saw. Great receiver but late in games he would just become butterfingers. I’ve seen Detroit lose games as balls would bounce off or go through his hands into the hands of the secondary. CJ and Stafford have to be the most talented duo to never accomplish s**t. To me, he quit once got his big contract and went all GQ.

4. Antonio Brown. Recently retired , has been the best in the league for 5 years before leaving Pittsburg. He was another model of consistency , I believe 20+ games of 5 catches and 65 yards , a record. He was the leagues best rout runner , as good a pair of hands as anyone including Mr. Larry Fitzgerdld. At only 5’11 was as dangerous derp threat there was. He was the best receiver , period. Then he got knocked the f**k out in a playoff game by Vontez Burfict , that either concussed him so badly he became someone else , or there were problems behind closed doors just Tomlin was able to keep it hush hush. Before working his way out of Pittsburg , he and Big Ben were the best statistical duo in the league. It’s a damn shame how his career ended.

3. Steve Smith. I don’t see how once eligible ,any reason at all fir him not being 1st ballot hall of famer. Ignore the 5’8 height. Was feisty , fighting Josh Nornan in practice , his team mate. I still don’t understand why Carolina let him go. Blew my mind , I bet if asked Cam Newton , he would repeat my comment. Well went over to Baltimore , fired up and motivated , as you can imagine. Had no intention ever leaving the panthers organization. Well the Ravens were elated to have him. Another guy that’s just a football player, no diva in him. When planning to retire at the end of the season in Baltimore , tore his ACL, he already planned to retire so figure he’d hang it up right? Hell no , would come back to have a pro bowl season. He was a compete receiver. Great rout runner , great down field , only flaw if could consider it that , was he was 5’8. Over 1,000 receptions , almost 15,000 yards also another 1,000 yards receiving in the playoffs. He lead the league in 05 in receptions , yards and receiving touch downs. Mind you 1st half his career had Jake Delhomme at qb. Then Cam , battles injuries first few seasons , so Derek Anderson’s of the world then on to Joe Flacco. How he did what he did is beyond me, he’s really tied for 2nd on this list. Probably could’ve played 2 or 3 more seasons.

2. Andre Johnson. Talk about a wasted career. He was the best in the league from 04-07. Never had a qb, never. Holds all the texans records. Over a 1000 catches , 14000 yards 70 td’s. 5 seasons of over 100 receptions. 7 years over 1000 yards. At 6’3 230 4.2 40, excellent route runner. If he could’ve just had a decent not even good quarter back , decent qb, imagine what he would’ve done. Won me a fantasy football title too. Man I hate he didn’t get a chance. Jerry Rice gets Montana, Young and MVP Rich Gannon , Wes Welker gets Tom Brady and Peyton Manning , I mean T O got McNabb and Romo. If Andre could’ve just gotten a Jeff Garcia or Chad Pennington.

1. Sterling Sharpe. I was shocked he wasn’t already in the hall of fame. This dude played 7 seasons. 595 receptions , 8,341 yards , 65 td’s. 3 out of 7 years caught 100 passes leading the league twice , 2 more seasons he caught 90 and 94 passes. 5 out of 7 seasons caught for 1,000 yards leading the league once, leading the nfl in touch down catches twice. And he only had Favre for 3 of those seasons. Sharpe maybe the best I ever seen. If could’ve gotten 5 more seasons we may be calling him the GOAT. He blocked down field too. No flaws. Wasn’t fast fast but could get open down field. Just wow. Read this again on Sharpe. Wow
