This beautiful 18 hole public course and practice center was opened in 1929 and has been owned and operated by the City of Mentor since 2005.
The course first opened in 1929 after being designed by Bertie Way, who also designed The Country Club of Detroit, the Mayfield County Club and the famous South Course at Firestone Country Club in Akron. Black Brook was honored to host the Northern Ohio PGA Junior Golf Tournament today with a full field of exceptionally skilled junior players. Thanks to all of the players that competed and thanks to all of the spectators that came out to watch the kids play.

Black Brook’s Sunday Morning Slovenian League paid tribute to our dear friend, Wayne Walker this morning. Wayne was a great guy and really fun. He brought out the best in us and we will truly miss him. Wayne was known for not wanting you to stress over a 4 foot putt, so he just gave it to you. We all shot our lowest scores when we played with him. R.I.P.

We extend our gratitude to all students who attended today’s complimentary golf clinic. It was a resounding success. Our Head Golf Professional, Tim Ausperk, PGA, and our Director of Instruction, Jay Schiffbauer, are always honored to host this clinic.
Due to the wet conditions, we are cart path only and hitting off the mats on the driving range.
