We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported this year's Great Scorpion Trail Run. Together, we were able to raise $6,050 for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. That will be a huge help in their ongoing efforts to aid in research and development for those with Alopecia. The NAAF Community is an extended family that supports those who are diagnosed with Alopecia, most from a very young age. With the addition of this year's donation, The Great Scorpion Trail Run has raised $41,410 over 9 years and none of it would be possible without your help, participants and of course our sponsors who make it all possible. Also our very special crew of volunteers who never say no and provide all the fun at the finish and 5 points.

Special Shout out to Magnolia Beverage Company, Inc. who been a generous sponsor for much of the 9 years of the race, and Total Rehab (Stephen Kay) and Total Imaging of Mississippi who have been with the race since day one and is such a critical part of the race day experience. The City of Meridian who provides such a perfect venue and assists in so many ways, Lauderdale County Supervisors who provide the big white tent that we are so grateful for. Tailwind Nutrition who has been with the race since year one. Visit Meridian who does an amazing job providing swag for the bags so that visitors from out of town and state know all about the Queen City. And of course X2rfid and Time2Run for the organization and timing.

From the bottom of our hearts to each and everyone of you. Thank you. Year 10 will be a special milestone and we are already working on it. We are moving the race to the second weekend in January for the next 2 years to avoid being on top of New Year's Day and conflicting with New Year's Day races that were long established. Mark your calendar, January 9th, 2027. Registration for the 10th Great Scorpion Trail Run will open this spring. We hope you will join us.

We will be highlighting much more including posting photos and a race video after we get back from taking down the markings. But some of the highlights from this year's race include a new 50K race record for the men and a dominating rewrite of the race record for the 50K on the women's side. Also, we have a new King of the Loop this year. What an exciting experience this year. Thank you to Magnolia Beverage Company, Inc. ,Total Rehab with Stephen Kay and Total Imaging of Mississippi. The Bonita Crew who are more awesome that words can say, our volunteers who rock the 5 Points and make sure you have what you need at the finish. They are the heroes who make it all go. We are going through all of your awesome pictures and getting them saved to our album. We will post these pictures later today. Right now we have to clean the trails and take down all the trail markings and put Bonita Lakes back to original nature.
