When I am working with teens who struggle with anxiety, depression and s*xual compulsion I always hear parents say, “I’m not good at being empathetic.” My response is usually, “I know.” The reality is that no one is really “good” at demonstrating empathy in the beginning. We aren’t trained to be empathetic as parents and neither were our parents or their parents. Becoming empathetic requires practice and becoming empathetic as a parent is one of the best things we can do for our children who are struggling with mental health.
Have a teen that is struggling and want to learn how to retrain your brain and become part of the solution as a parent? Want to have a better and deeper connection with your teenager? Within four sessions I can help provide you and your teenager with the tools and training necessary to achieve both.
