These things can all be true and you can still be a nice person.
The role of emotions is to keep out the bad and allow in the good. The role of the immune system is the same thing. This is why people who suppress their emotions are also simultaneously messing with their immune system.

One of the most freeing things I’ve learned is that someone else’s mood, attitude, or reaction doesn’t have to become mine.
You don’t have to match their energy.
You don’t have to prove a point.
You don’t have to stay in situations that disrupt your peace.
Sometimes the strongest response is no response.
Sometimes the healthiest boundary is walking away.
And sometimes growth looks like staying calm when your old self would have reacted.
Protecting your peace isn’t selfish…it’s self-respect. 🤍
