Red Mountain Wrestling

Memorial tribute to Gerald Slemmer, the longest serving Principal at Red Mountain High School. For 10 years Gerry led Red Mountain to unprecedented success in many areas. He wrestled in Pennsylvania at Wilson Westlawn High School and for the ASU Sun Devils. His support of the Red Mountain Wrestling Program was rock solid and greatly appreciated. He was an all All-PAC 10 football star helping lead the Sun Devils to a 2nd in the Nation AP finish with a 12-0 record. He also served as an Associated Superintendent of Schools, principal at multiple schools and Hall of Fame Football Coach. Rest in peace Gerry the Red Mountain Family is forever grateful for your service.

The Mountain Lions battled at Unstoppable Preseason Nationals this weekend. Our boys wrestled tough, gained valuable experience, and learned a lot against high-level competition.

Leading the way was senior Sylus Martinez, who earned a 4th-place finish at 113 lbs.

Great work by everyone who stepped on the mat. The season is just getting started. Keep putting in the work.
