will be closing Canyon Lake, including Forest Service Roads and recreational sites in the surrounding area, beginning Sept. 8, 2026, to Feb. 28, 2027.

State Route 88 (Apache Trail) will remain open.

This temporary closure order is in preparation for the Salt River Project’s (SRP) Canyon Lake Drawdown Project, which will lower water levels to allow for critical dam safety inspections and maintenance.

2 MILLION+ POUNDS OF TRASH REMOVED! We hit a huge milestone on Halloween, 10/31/25, we have removed over 2 million pounds of trash from Arizona’s Outdoor Recreation & Wilderness Areas! We hit 1 million pounds of trash removed on 05/18/20 & it seems fitting that we hit 2 million pounds the same year we hit our 10-year anniversary! ⁠

Our Dedicated Restoration Team has removed 1,203,742 pounds (601+ tons) of trash and volunteers have helped us remove 803,843 pounds (402+ tons) of trash! ⁠Thank you to everyone on our Dedicated Restoration Team, everyone who has volunteered with us, and our Sponsors & Grantors!⁠
