New construction concern: Bent truss plates and split beams—is this structurally sound?
Hi everyone, my wife and I just bought our first home (currently under construction) with a mid-June closing date. We did a walkthrough today and noticed a few things that seem off:
Truss Connector Plates: Several plates are bent away from the wood with teeth not fully embedded.
Splintering: Visible wood damage/splintering at the connection points.
Split Beams: Multiple beams have cracks running almost their entire length.
I’m not a structural engineer, so I’m not sure if this is standard "settling" or a serious quality issue. Is this normal for a new build, or should I hire a third-party inspector before we get any further? I’ve attached photos for reference. Thanks for the help!

How screwed am I?
Hey yall, this is my first tile job at my place and I think I screwed up. I had to lower the ledger board on the wall without the shower head and forgot to waterproof the screw holes with Kerdi band. I tiled over the holes already so theoretically they are filled with just mortar. Do I need to rip out or will I be okay?

Can someone explain these floor trusses?
On this site for the next week. These are pictures of the 2nd story floor trusses for half the house. The top cord is shouldered on the first floor wall but the bottom cord is not sitting on anything (that is hat channel beneath). I’m not a structural framer by trade but have some experience and I can’t figure out this engineering.

Wife Says “No one will notice.”
This is my second tile installation ever. A lot of lessons learned. Not enough though. The gap spreads from 1.25” to 2.5” in about 28”.
The room is not square, but this is the wall everything is keyed off of. I don’t now how I goofed this badly.
I told my wife I need to rip it all out and start over. She doesn’t think it’s noticeable.
To add to my frustration, this is the last project between me an hernia surgery.

Joist Hangers
What is the difference between these two strong ties? They're the same price, so why wouldn't everyone use the beefier looking one?

Actually, I just did a very similar shower with a window like that. I built the wall out, so I'd have a deeper window frame to work with.
I started laying it out like you have it and u/LateOnAFriday suggested to just stack the tile. It was a great solution.
Also, I dry fit all three walls (not at the same time), tub to ceiling, using painters tape. I had no problems.

Would you advice against 1/16" grout for this tile
12x24 concrete look tile. Does it need 1/8" grout? Also is it easier to do no offset or 50% offset? What like better for a bathroom shower and floors? Vertical?

Done without a permit because the client wanted horizontal railings and no hand railing on the stairs. Western red cedar with a picture frame.
