STAFF SUNDAY 🌞💜 Last, but certainly not least, we have our owner and fearless leader Mrs. Jenn! ✨ Jennifer Giles Baker

Jenn has been in business with SODC for 21 years now, creating the most unforgettable opportunities and memories! Over the years, Jenn and the studio have had the privilege of working with incredible choreographers like Mandy Moore, Dee Caspary, and Cris Judd, & performing in 6 bowl games, sharing the stage with artists such as Nico & Vinz, Little Big Town, and Andy Grammer. Jenn has received a Top Choreographer Award at HOF in 2012, multiple national championships through Showstopper, countless choreography awards, and has trained many dancers who have gone on to dance at the collegiate level. Now SODC is headed back to NYC for the second time to perform at the 100th Anniversary of Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade! We appreciate all you have done and continue to do for the studio and all the love and dedication you put into it all! We couldn’t do it without you and love you so much! 🤟🏾

STAFF SUNDAY 🌞💜 Today we are highlighting 14th year staff and assistant director, Jacklyn Chapasko! ✨ Jacklyn Chapasko

Jacklyn grew up in Garland, Tx where she began dancing at the age of 4. She started competing at age 8 with Steps A Dance Studio in Rowlett. She was always attending dance camps in the area which led to performances at multiple Dallas Cowboys halftime shows including 5 nationally televised Thanksgiving halftimes with artists like Clint Black, Jessica Simpson, Creed, and Toby Keith. In high school, she was a proud member of the South Garland Southern Belles where she served as Lieutenant her junior year and Captain her senior year. Through drill team, she was able to train for a week at Edge Performing Arts Center in LA and perform in the 2005 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. After high school, Jacklyn attended Texas A&M University where she was a member of Dance Arts Society. After college, she moved back to Dallas where she’s worked as a teacher and counselor in Mesquite ISD and the assistant director at SODC. She can’t wait to see what this season holds!

This week we are highlighting 11th year staff, Mrs. Megan! ✨ wohlschlaeger

Megan’s journey at SODC began at just two years old. Growing up in the studio, she fell in love with dance and discovered her passion for teaching as a student teacher. In high school, she spent four years on the drill team, proudly serving as Captain of the Bishop Lynch Brigade her senior year. Megan then headed to Texas A&M University, where she led the Dance Arts Society as President and graduated early with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Dance. Since returning to the studio, she’s taught ballet, combo, jazz, pointe, all companies, and many soloists and duets. Megan came home when she returned to SODC, and loves it here! We love you so much and appreciate all you do for our dancers! 🤟🏾
