Working out while pregnant will make you feel better, knowing you’re doing something beneficial for yourself and your baby.
Yoga provides both mental and physical health advantages for all people no matter what their age is. And, if you’re going through a disease, healing from surgery, or living with a chronic condition, yoga can turn into your solution and play an essential part in your treatment resulting in a quick recovery. Exercise for pregnant women is such an essential part of a healthy pregnancy. Regular physical activity is one of the elements that help maintain normal mental and physical well-being. In pregnant women who have moderate physical activity, there is a lower risk of developing obesity and becoming overweight. Physical exercises have an impact on maintaining proper muscular tonus, reduce pain and prepare for exertion during labor.
We help young moms acquire knowledge about the common misconceptions in general regarding fitness while pregnant. Exercising during pregnancy is especially beneficial it prepares you for labor, boosts your energy, and lifts your mood. One common misconception regarding mothers and fitness is that you need to spend hours working out to see results. However, if you spend 10-15 minutes 3-5 days per week doing any kind of physical activity such as walking, yoga, dancing, or weight training, you can see results over time. Welcome to ‘Mom’s On the Move in the Miami Area’ or MOMMA!! We are a non-profit organization for young moms to come together in the local Miami area through fitness. As an organization, we define young moms as teens and women in high school, college, and just out of college. Through various studies and research, we have found that when young moms are ostracized and do not have a strong support system, they are less likely to live out their full potential. This is why our goal as an organization is to create a place of comfort for our community so they feel welcomed by those around them. We want to highlight how fitness has numerous benefits both mentally and physically while young girls and women are expecting and post-partum. Although this organization is rooted in fitness, we want members to come together regardless of their fitness abilities or knowledge and connect through personal experiences as young ‘MOMMA’s.’
