Congratulations to our class of 2011 alumnus, Darren Shepherd for his new position as Head Football Coach at Concord High School in North Carolina.
Shepherd previously served as the defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach at Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg, NC since 2019. “We’re extremely excited about having Coach Shepherd join us at Concord High School.” said Greg Liddle, Athletic Director at Concord High School. “Coach Shepherd, even at a young age, brings a great deal of experience to the head coaching position. He has worked under and played for some of the most respected in the business. We look forward to Coach Shepherd and his wife Lauren joining the CHS family.”

After graduating from Pace, where he was a 3-year letterman in football. Shepherd went on to play college football at Averett University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine. At Averett, Shepherd earned USA South Academic All-Conference. He later graduated from Grand Canyon University with a master’s degree in Secondary Education while also being named to the Dean’s List.

The Pace family is proud of Darren and we wish him continued success in this new chapter of his career. God bless
