Yes, I saw it. I don’t have much more to say - the umpire was wrong.
I will let others crash out about it represented to them. A lot of us already know what this is.

The National Pastime is better when Black culture is on display.

For those new to the Black Baseball Mixtape - we track all things baseball and Black culture; on and off the field. A pleasant surprise this year is that several MLB franchises are nailing their fan giveaways. I’m talking bobbleheads, HBCU and Heritage night jerseys, and even special giveaways like the Jordan Walker Home Run Derby Championship shirt. The most successful giveaways this year have been centered on Black culture. My personal favorites are the Tupac bobblehead (Orioles), the Chocolate City Jersey (Nats), and the Walker Home Run Derby shirt (Cardinals). The Cardinals also crushed their African American Heritage jersey. The Brewers struck a perfect tone online by recognizing Black businesses for Black History Month (second year in a row). And on the AAA side, the Indianapolis Indians really did an amazing job with their Negro League weekend (I still need one of those NAP hats). What has been your favorite baseball giveaway this year? Does it blend baseball and Black culture, or another cultural element?

Young white baseball players absolutely love PCA, as we all should. Dude is electric. And I’m intrigued because I’ve seen this throughout American culture. PCA has swag — and plays the game with a flair and style that comes from the tree of the Negro Leagues. It’s no different than what has always happened in hip-hop — PCA is displaying Eminem-type talent. So, will he have Marshall-type commercial success? Will he be the face of MLB next year?

Still the best baseball bobblehead of the season (so far).
