Sometimes, I catch myself being so hard on the person in the mirror because my muscle building journey is taking so freaking long and try to remind myself that my body hasn’t always looked like this.
Looking at my old pictures brought back so many emotions. There are years between the first 3 photos and the last one. I can remember that day in Grand Canyon clearly. It was a super hot day and I had to wear something underneath my shorts in order to prevent the friction in between my thighs. They ended up getting severely irritated anyway. That time, looking at the pictures my friend took of me was really hard on my mental health. I stayed quiet but I just hated all of them because of how I looked that day.
People always ask me how long did it take me to achieve my current physique. It’s a tough question to answer because results will vary for everyone. Even tho I’m dying to motivate every one of you and be the inspiration so that could change your life in a positive way but I’m also afraid to create unrealistic expectations for you. Yes, I lost the most unwanted weight and started seeing muscle definition (toned my body) in the first 3 months and it is possible. However, being where I’m at the moment took me years.
Look, I get that some of your fav influencers claim that they transformed their bodies in like 6 weeks. I’m not saying they are lying but some of them don’t feel bad to create unrealistic expectations for money/fame or whatever they are doing it for. It is also different for everybody. When it comes to losing weight, building muscle and getting into a certain shape your genetics play a huge role.
Some people get muscle definition with the minimal effort on the other hand it might take years for others. I just wanted to let you know that you should be proud of yourself if you are going to the gym, trying to eat healthy, staying on track, trying your hardest to create the best version of yourself. Bc we live in a delayed action environment that the prize takes longer than we think however, it’s so worth it. Because you go gym everyday and not seeing much change doesn’t mean you aren’t getting there. Be proud of yourself and just keep going 🫶🏼
