Standing tucks require strong legs for both a quality jump and landing. Focusing on the flip too much takes away the importance of the jump and increases the chances of a tumbler touching down, if they land. Prioritizing the work of the legs in standing tucks will keep the hands off of the floor. Awesome job Emme!

If a tumbler allows their focus to only be on doubt & negativity, then that is where their effort will follow. Mindset has such a critical role in what happens each rep, each training session, and in the totality of a tumbler’s journey. Tumblers should be grateful for what they have, hungry for what they want, and confident that, with time & consistency, their hard work will lead to success. Excellent work Maddie!

The balance between progression and perfection can easily be tipped to one side more than the other. Too much focus on perfection, and there will be no advancement. Everything a tumbler does will be difficult & complex, and there will be no room for fun or enjoyment because the pressure is constant & unwavering. Too much focus on progression, and the quality gets left out. Nothing gets improved, nothing gets maximized, and the tumbler is left with a lot of nothing. Training tumbling requires the consistency of perfecting WITH progressing. Incredible job G!

When training tumbling becomes a collaboration, it’s important to understand the needs of the tumbler. Nowadays tumblers work with multiple coaches, sometimes too many coaches. Too many voices can be confusing or disruptive, especially if they are saying differing & conflicting messages. Alternatively, when coaches are building a tumbler in unison, there can be a vast improvement along with accelerated growth. The messages are clear, the training is purposeful, and the tumbler stays at the center of it all. tumblepsyche the training you provide your tumblers makes working with them and helping them improve such a fun & easy experience. The foundation you lay prepares your tumblers for the challenges ahead, and the standard you set is one that should be followed by all. Happy to call you not just brother, but coach.

A tumbler’s strength can be their biggest barrier to progression & improvement. Tumbling alone does not cut it. The body’s ability to execute can be limited if the tumbler is not building their body correctly. Strengthening weak areas, while maximizing & improving already strong areas, will provide what is necessary to become a great tumbler. Awesome job Sophia!

The ability to help any and all tumblers I work with is my number one priority. Some tumblers need to be built from the ground up, with every aspect of their training monitored & scrutinized. Other tumblers need freedom, the opportunity to learn the best way for them and the room to make mistakes they can learn from. Each tumbler requires a different method & style of coaching that I always try to adapt to. Teaching a variety tumblers forces myself to learn from everyone I work with, and to apply those lessons to help & improve the next tumbler I am blessed to train. Awesome work Juli!

In tumbling, the way something looks directly relates to how it is done. Mistakes visibly tell what needs to be improved, and success can be distinguished even by a non-tumbler. Tumbling is about function over form. A tumbler’s priority when learning new skills shouldn’t be to only focus on the looks of things. It’s tying what they see to what they feel, and allowing the two to collectively guide them to their best, most effective technique.

The timing of what is coached is as important as the quality of what is being coached. Teaching the right thing can still cause problems if it’s done at the wrong time. Each tumbler is unique, and building their best technique along with maintaining progression is on their time as much as it is the coach’s. Maximizing when with the how can be pivotal for a tumbler’s journey. Excellent work Mia!
